February 17, 201412 yr Should this contract come to fruition does it tell us anything about BP's immediate future with the Reds? Maybe it's just me, but I think it spells doom for BP...:idunno:

They had a plan in place to sign Latos long-term when they traded for him. Just my opinion.

Or maybe they just decided to sign the first one that they could get to agree to what they consider a club friendly deal. With the money that free agent pitchers are getting right now I'd have to think that Latos would want to see what he's worth on the open market. He'd certainly want more than Bailey is getting.

Also, Bailey is getting better and we have put in so much time developing him it'd be a shame to see him shine with another team so I hope the Reds do get this deal done.

For a 100 million dollars???? No way!!! IMO to recieve 100 millions dollars you have to be at the top of your game not getting better.
