February 16, 201412 yr Author Not if this precedent is set. I think girls should play on girls teams and boys on boys teams. No more girls on the football team unless you let a guy play on the volleyball team or the girls soccer team if the school does not have a boys soccer team. That's fine with me, let the same gender with what's between their legs play on the same team. Girls shouldn't play football and under no circumstance should a boy ever be on a girls team.

Girls shouldn't play football and under no circumstance should a boy ever be on a girls team. If she's physically capable why not? I have more of an issue with the physical inequities between high school boys and girls then I do with any moral issues.
February 16, 201412 yr Morally this isn't right and it's wrong. I don't want my daughter on a team with a guy who has a penis and dresses like, acts like, and thinks he is a girl. I'm not going to a parent that let's my kids have to be subjected to this. Girls go to school with boys every day. I assume this kid would have to dress separately. If so, what is your concern?

What if a school only has a girls soccer team? If a boy is good enough to make the team, shield get be allowed to play? What if Johnny gets gut from boys basketball, can he try out for the girls team? If you let girls try out for boys teams, then you have to allow the reverse as well

In middle school, and high school girls are not physically capable, IMO. Big difference in girl at that age and boys.

February 16, 201412 yr Most boys are physically stronger than their female counterparts. Being transgender doesn't change that. For that reason I don't think he should be on the team. What about the girls who didn't make the team because he did? What if this team won a tournament? Is it fair to other schools that they can have a boy play for them?

What if Johnny gets gut from boys basketball, can he try out for the girls team? If you let girls try out for boys teams, then you have to allow the reverse as well I'll grant you the soccer scenario as long as it is a sport that doesn't have different rules in any way for boys vs. girls games. Boys and girls soccer from a rules and equipment standpoint are identical so go for it, only if there is no boys team at the school. The people that have made the rules for volleyball and basketball among others recognize the physical differences between boys and girls and have adjusted the game accordingly so then no in those sports I don't think it should be allowed. And I absolutely don't think that a boy cut from a boys team should be allowed to try out for the girls team of the same sport.
February 16, 201412 yr She may go to school with him/her or whaterever it is, but that don't mean she has to be on the same sports team. Let me be clear. I'm not belittling your stance. However, IMO it might be a bit of an overreaction(natural). What is it about being "on the same sports team" with a boy that is different about being in a school club or math class?
February 16, 201412 yr In middle school, and high school girls are not physically capable, IMO. Big difference in girl at that age and boys. And you would be wrong on this one, sorry. In middle school most girls are more physically mature then boys of that age and there are girls that are physically capable of playing football. I've seen it firsthand.

I've never seen one and I have been around ball a long time. If that is the case though, and a girl is just as capable of playing on a 7th or 8th grade football team, then your team sucks.

February 17, 201412 yr I think the law on athletics should be you compete with your birth gender. That should be the law at all levels of sports all the way up to the Olympics.
February 17, 201412 yr I don not think that he should be allowed to play for the girls team. If I understand the term Transgender correctly, than he is simply dressing and making his appearance to be woman like and is not otherwise any different than any other males? If that is the case than I believe that he has an unfair physical advantage as compared to the girls. Now while I doubt that he is choosing to live this way simply for a competitive advantage in athletics, if he is allowed to play, what is to stop another boy from wearing a skirt, growing his hair out putting on lipstick and going by Michelle instead of Michael simply to be all region in girls basketball, once they get cut from the boys team?
