February 17, 201412 yr Thanks. You're welcome but I am curious as to where your issue lies. Is it simply competitive advantage? If the boy doesn't dress in the same lockerroom as the girls it can't be anything regarding boys seeing girls and girls seeing boys.
February 17, 201412 yr Club or class is completely different than a sports team I can't answer that unless I know the basis for the problem. If it's physical advantage then I agree. If it's "boys being around girls" then I disagree.
February 17, 201412 yr I have a lot of thoughts on this but I'll just say it's unfair and I'd be completely against it.

February 17, 201412 yr Author You're welcome but I am curious as to where your issue lies. Is it simply competitive advantage? If the boy doesn't dress in the same lockerroom as the girls it can't be anything regarding boys seeing girls and girls seeing boys. It's a morality issue to me, it goes against everything I have ever been around and taught. Maybe it's no big deal to people in this school, but for me it is. So does a college give him/her a scholarship if he/her is good. That's a college scholly in girls softball? I'm going to bet no.
February 17, 201412 yr Pat I loved the irony of the kid's name. As usual, you and I were on the same train of thought. Scary for you....
February 17, 201412 yr What is your concern? I wouldn't love my daughter sharing a shower / locker room with this young person...although I'm not sure I'd prevent her from playing if she wanted to and was good enough.
February 17, 201412 yr Girls go to school with boys every day. I assume this kid would have to dress separately. If so, what is your concern? I took this, "..and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records.”....to mean they'd be sharing a locker room.
February 17, 201412 yr I have no problem with a girl playing on a guys team if their is not a female team in that sport for her to play on and she is physically up to the task. Their does need to be seperate locker room / showering facilities. But in no way am I for a guy playing on a girls team.
