Where am I slacking? I've never been approached, boarded. Because it's the party aisle that gets boarded and searched. I don't know how abused that happens to be. I've never enjoyed activity while drinking. Can't be properly enjoyed that way. I've always been a fairly sedentary drinker.

Nope but I'd hope if they saw you driving and pounding some buds while operating the car that they'd pull you over to check to see how you were doin. I'm guessing most of you haven't spent much time at the big lake at the bottom of the state.

I have heard the story of a local county attorney refusing to act on any of the tickets he received from F&W because of the absurd nature in which they were writing them. His message finally got through to Frankfort and the rest of the summer quieted down. That was two years ago. To the best of my knowledge, they picked right back up again last year. It really hurt the marina owner's business, as many people just stopped coming.

 

The big story from last year, was that not only did they board a boat, but they handcuffed a guy who was allegedly drunk, and took him in. Problem was, his arms were handcuffed behind him, and they didn't put a life jacket on him. It may or may not have been the proper procedure, but it looked wrong in many people's eyes.

I am speculating here but just like driving a car you can't drive a boat under the influence and I assume you are also prohibited from having any open containers on a boat but again that is speculation. Anyone?

 

But if I am right, you can't drink and boat which would knock out about 75% of the summer activities and that is one of the reasons why the Yogi Bear cops are so aggressive.

I have to assume that the issue is mostly on the burnside of the lake. The marina I use doesn't have that issue. As a matter of fact I'd prefer them to patrol more.

 

I do know they carry breathalyzers in their craft. Or at least used to.

I'd love that idea, but we (locally) do need some of their money, even if they do act like jackasses when they get here.

Last summer I watched a buckeye on a deck boat nearly take 2 kids off a tube in the middle of the lake next to the dam. Passed within 5 feet of the kids on the tube. Turned at the last second, raised his hand with the beer in it and said "my bad".

The funny thing about those types is they spill their guts on Facebook like diarrhea but the instant they sense someone is taking an active interest (that isn't 100% in their best interests) they turn into jerks and/or defriend you.
