Ear buds? I've never used any Beats buds so I honestly couldn't speak on them.

Yes. Sound was great, why I bought another pair after I was skeptical after the first two breaking.

 

Now I just think the build quality is not there.

I had an issue with both of my son's sets and it was always at the plug end. the insulation allowed the wired to become exposed. I used heat-shrink I have for electrical wire splice in lieu of electrical tape. A little hair dryer heat and good as new. Use the red and you can't tell a bit.

Two takeaways:
