Just one of those February road nights for Holmes. Starters came out up 17 and Highlands hit a 3 and made three free throws to give you the final margin.

 

Highlands played well. Kept Holmes off the offensive glass and got good looks around the rim because of Buten's penetration.

Bluebirds played their Tails off tonight. Only down 18-15 after 1st qtr the Bulldogs jugadores the Birds 15-8 in the 2nd to lead 33-23 at half. Bolden only had 6 pts in first half. He was whistled for traveling atleast 5 times tonight.

 

Birds came out strong to start 2nd half on a bucket by Caín and big trey by Buten to cut into lead and force Booher to call a timeout. Birds cut it to 7 at 39-32 with 2:51 left in 3rd. Hill and Chames were too much though late extending lead to 15 at beginning of 4th.

 

Birds fought back though, down 10 a couple of times they missed 3pt attempts which were great looks. Hill was a mule down low tonight. Housley and Glover played well off the bench. Buten was the big spark for the Birds. I dont think he had more than 1 turnover all Night against the Bulldog press. They pressed the entire game by the way.

 

I loved the heart the Birds played with and i think they can win the next 5 teams on their schedule going into districts. Kevin Listerman has done wonders with that group. They have no Size but Did alot of the little things tonight to Keep it competitive. Booher was not happy!

 

Bolden was limited due to excellent defense.

Not sure about that Man, Booher had starters in until 1:20 left and it was only a 13 ph lead. Birds had emptied their bench 40 sec prior.

Not a typical Bolden game though. His staring down referees after being whistled for traveling has to stop. Who does he think he is? Jordan?

Holmes had everyone, Birds played hard. Too much size on offensive glass and several Hill stickbacks.
