Cincinnati 69 Louisville 66

This team doesn't get punched in the face well. No teams really do, but last year's team would take a punch then hit you back with a 4-punch combo. This team simply isn't capable of it.

They'll continue to paste bad teams, beat decent teams and lose to good teams unless something happens. That's enough to get into the tournament. It's not enough to get past the Round of 32.

Pretty much spot on.

UL won the title last year in large part because Siva refused to let them lose when the chips were down. Cincinnati has that same element this year with Kilpatrick, Jackson and Rubles...

What a difference a few years makes. Prior to 2010, in his first 3-4 years, many thought he was overmatched as a coach at this level.

Perhaps the conference affiliation has a little to do with it.

He won a lot in the Big East as well...

They did play in the Big East championship game just two years ago...

This UC team just keeps quietly creeping along. My biggest concern is that I fear they have the ability to really throw an offensive clunker in the mix of games and that will be there downfall........Still I am very impressed with this team.

He's not going anywhere...

Is there any school out there, that if they came calling, you could see him leaving for?

Only one that worries me is UL when Pitino retires. For a few different reasons, I think he's here for at least another decade...

Love the effort. I'm not sure how deep the bench is. Cronin brought up fatigue last night.

So you and GT think that this team would be undefeated in the old BE??? Their very best year was something like 11-7, and they havd a losing record overall. I like the team this year but to not admit they are in a far weaker conference is insane...

A lot???

Multiple wins over Calhoun, Boeheim, Pitino, Wright, Dixon, Huggins and JTIII and started from absolute scratch. Yes, Mick won a lot in the BEast after he rebuilt the program...

Your initial response was not to a question as to whether or not they'd be undefeated, but whether Cronin was overmatched as a coach. My reply was simply that he'd shown he was capable of competing by the time the conference came to a close. UC has been on a clear upward trajectory since he first took over. UC's first year in the BE, they went 2-14 in league play. They had winning records each of the final three seasons in the league including a 12-6 fourth-place finish two years ago when they played in the Big East Championship.

No, the AAC is not nearly as tough as the Big East was... but that wasn't the question at hand...

... I can't believe I'm in here defending anything about UC. What the heck is the matter with me today?

.500 the last 4 seasons.

Depends on how the schedule played out. 4-0 vs teams from the league last year. Would be behind Cuse and about even with Nova at the top of the league as it stands...
