Mason County 61 Lexington Catholic 56

Featured Replies

Nice win for the Royals in Lexington. Listened to the last half of this one on the car radio.

Key stretch of the game - Royals had pulled out to a 53-46 lead with just under 2 minutes to play. They commit a foul and draw a technical, Catholic gets 4 charity tosses and the ball; only come away with 2 of the 4 FTs out of a possible 7 points.

Very nice win for Mason County. Especially on the road.

Shawn Johnson with 16 & 16 to lead the Royals. Dorian Henry & Jake O'Mara both finish with 12. Per Danny Weddle.

Really nice win. Congrats to the Royals.

Tough home loss for the Knights. Looked very rusty, they hadnt played since Jan 14 due to weather issues.

LexCath has lost 3 of 4 & all of them have been at home. That was after they'd beaten some awfully good teams to win the Republic Bank Classic.

What do you make of the Knights? Are they at full strength?

Nice win by the Royals after losing to Holmes. Gotta love HS sports.

Congrats Royals. Nice win especially on the road.

I'm wondering the same thing. I was impressed with their play over the holidays, but since then they've encountered difficulties. Does anyone have any insight as to what the problem might be?

On the other hand, most of the teams they've lost to aren't necessarily easy pickings either, so . . .

They have little to no inside production. Mason is a bad matchup for them. Also, Mason I'm sure looked to exploit that matchup issue. Coach O'Hearn is one of the best around.

Thanks for the info. :thumb:

That explains a lot. Mason's strength is undoubtedly its front line & the stat sheet pretty well proves that. Johnson, Henry, & O'Mara are a pretty formidable trio.
