Part of me wants to think that, but Caldwell County hasn't won it the last two years, and I haven't heard that (granted, two great years and the ride is continuing; you'll hear no 2nd guessing from me).

And, people wonder why there have been 40+ coaching openings each year in our state for the last 5, and some of the biggest jobs in recent years coming open this year in the masses.

Good Luck to him, but I think he saw when the Boone kid left and some of his linemen graduation, I think he saw the level of talent was going down , which is normal in 2-A, He had a good run of athletes for 4 years and you can't blame him for wanting to coach with his son. My question is why couldn't they get a job for his son?

Especially being a good coach that he is, you would think they would want him around and would do all that they can to get him there.

Actually it was felt that the talent would have been down drastically the past two seasons yet they still have had good runs. The previous few classes were the ones seen as having talent.

Again, he is great coach, I just don't know why Murray could not get his son a job. It's got to be more to it.

EASY there Rambo. Great to be a fan and all, but time for a reality check. Not quite the best player in the region I do not think. i believe many others would also disagree with you. Fine player no doubt, but best in the region is a stretch at best.

Just 2A region guys. I would of said ALL of WKY. Then I would agree with you, but in 2-A he made more of an impact on both sides of the ball.

 

He was a good QB that ran their offense and made playes, but at Safety he was great. SO name 1 person in District 1 and 2 that played on both sides of the ball the made more of an impact then him?

I only saw him play a few times and you could tell he was a good player but in those few times I saw him , I never thought to myself that he could be the best in the 2A region. Great competitor.

Geez. I don't doubt it one bit, and those people just make me sick. To their defense, had Murray just been able to throw it a little bit better (I think they threw for less than 200 yards on the year), and you can out of that system---as a matter of fact, it's a thing of beauty; they would have gotten over the "hump" (and, I hate using that word for them).

Please disregard the statement above. I remember looking this stat while Murray was making their run in the playoffs, and I guess they just hadn't updated their stats at the time. After going back and looking, they threw for a little over 1,000....which, I know seems bad this day and age; but, it isn't.

Steve Duncan is a great coach. I don't know if he is a championship coach but he is one of the better ones out there who have not won a ring. He will do well wherever he lands.

Who is the leader to replace Duncan? This is one of the better jobs in W Ky?

I don't think Murray's successes were necessarily due to their opponents failures or lack of talent. Indeed, Murray had a few other players that were talented and deserving but little was said about them. It had been known for a while that this would be Duncan's last year.
