After watching Murray's JV for the last couple of years it seems that the talent level is on the decline.

Duncan has been named the HC at Logan County HS. Yes, the same team Bowling Green beat 91-10.

He must really be mad at Murray to take a terrible job like Logan. Are they going to hire his son? they got a good coach but it would be very hard for Nick Saben to make a winner out of Locan Co.???

^^^One would think, but I can assure you that is not the case. Has nothing, but the highest of love for Murray High.

Why would they not find a position for his son? The job he has done at Murray one would expect that he had full control of his staff. This will be a very hard coach to replace as he was a good one?

His son has been a G.A under Bobby P at WKU, the "more" to the story is that Zip's (Duncan's son being referenced) wife is the assistant track coach at WKU and is sitting pretty good herself.

Bingo! The ONE thing I can assure you about Steve Duncan is he firmly believes he's being called to serve at Logan Co. He doesn't care about the tradition (or lack of), what people think, or the perception. He will connect with the kids, get them to believe, and be passionate about their physical and spiritual development. I would say this is an OPPORTUNITY for him to serve the Lord in another way...I'm excited for the Logan Co kids!!

And for those that do not know the geography of western Kentucky, Murray is 2 hours from Logan County. Not as if he is taking a job just up the road at a rival school. WKU is just up the road. Sounds to me he is passionate about working with his son and trying to groom him as a coach.

Right you are. Which, for those that don't really know...Logan County and WKU aren't considered WKY by the true western Kentuckians. lol

That area is SouthCentral Kentucky.

So where does WKY "start"? Todd County? Christian County? Is Muhlenberg WKY? Madisonville? Owensboro?

For starters, Kentucky is shaped really funky as are a lot of states. Kind of rough measuring off my computer; but, if you divide the state in to three equal longitudinal distances (measuring west to east) and taking in to consideration Kentucky's eastern and most western points, the west/central Kentucky dividing line would be around Owensboro and measuring south from there it would cross in to Tennessee south of Elkton or thereabout. So, Todd County for purposes of this discussion. Bowling Green is approximately 40% of the way across the state.

Depends on who you talk to. I know some that say you have to be on or west of LBL to be considered WKY. Those that say this are of course the ones from these areas. They say that those who aren't part of this region are just "Pretenders" when they say they are from WKY. :lol2:

 

I've asked those people, what about Owensboro? They say no, b/c of how the Natcher connects O'boro to Bowling Green..straight drive North/South almost.

 

Most (and, talking about the LBL on West People) give Henderson, Hoptown on back the benefit of the doubt.
