Bomb Threat At Highlands High School

Featured Replies

Threat came in at 7 this morning. Students are at the middle school awaiting the OK signal.

All clear.

Jeez; I'm so sick of hearing about this and school shootings.

Some kid somewhere needs his backside kicked.

Yeah, because that makes sense. The middle school and the high school are connected. If one blows up, the other will certainly have damage.

Probably some kid that didn't study for a test.

Threat was around 7 this morning. The school was swept almost immediately there after by dogs. Most if not all students never entered the building. Other than Earlybird students. So when the majority of students arrived, school was already searched and cleared.

But yeah we said the same thing about putting them next door, but in reality never in danger.

Probably some kid that didn't study for a test.

You took the thought right out of my brain.

Yeah , reports cards went home yesterday and someone must have gotten a bad grade. I'm sure they will find out who it is that called. Kids are really stupid when it comes to things like this. Especially with social media. Person probably already bragging about it on his/her Facebook page.

Absolutely, positively no way your thought was only one sentence.

I'll give the school credit, they've been vigilant in sending my wife and I texts, emails and robo calls all morning updating and explaining the situation in detail.

Nah, don't see someone being able to sneak a bomb powerful enough to do that into a school. Apparently was a voicemail and my guess is they could tell it was a young person who made the call. So they have to believe a young person could get the materials, build a powerful enough bomb and transport it and place it in an area that could do the damage from one building to the other. They are connected but only by the walkway with two brick outer walls. What's the distance between them, 40-50 feet at the closest and my guess is the students were in the interior hallways which is quite a ways from the HS. Given the cold I'm fine with where they sent the students and my son was one of them.

^This....

There were parents showing up and taking their kids out of the Middle School. The Middle school was never under lock down or danger. The High School & Middle School are only connected by a 4th floor Pedway. The Administrators and Authorities handled it properly. The middle school parents on the other hand....Wow! If you don't like how our schools are ran and don't trust the people in charge, then I think you better look elsewhere. They are trained very well for situations like what happened this morning. I'm sure they have considered and prepared for the exact same protocol to a "T" and even have prepared for the worse case Scenario's.....Well done!
