How many Schools Broadcast? Who are the best?

All of the schools in our area are covered. Southwestern, Pulaski Co., and Somerset. If I'm not mistaken even if they are playing one another each station still carries their teams games. We also have local TV coverage that does game of the week which includes all three teams so each team gets a least 3 plus games on. One time all three were out of town so they came to "The Rock" and did a SW vs Rockcastle for the local TV viewers. BGP top ten was announced each show 1A through 4A. We are very thankful for our football coverage, I read on here how some teams barely get anything.

Covcath has a web broadcast of all football and basketball games on the school website.

Ashland broadcasts all of its Football and Boys Basketball games on FM WBVB "B97.1" Good Times And Great Oldies. These same broadcasts until just a few years ago were carried on AM 1420 WCMI. This was a big step up for the Ashland program, but will always remember old WCMI with love in my heart. Heck, back in to old days of AM radio you were sometimes lucky to hear the games even here in Ashland. Now the broadcast can be heard around the Tri-State.

 

As far as quailty announcing "we" have the finest play by play man in the state! He can ruffle the feathers of oppenents as well as the home crowd, but his ability to paint a picture of the game is unmatched by anyone else I've heard call sports events PERIOD :thumb:

OH yeah, B97.1 also has a webcast that allows anyone that has access to the internet to listen to the games.

Dickie Martin is with out a doubt one of the best play by play man's in the state, i'm pretty sure alot of people will agree with me on that one.

I wish my highschool did. That's something every school should strive for so their out of state Alums can listen.

Henderson Co broadcasts on WSON 86am with Henderson Mayor Henry Lackey and Leo Peckinpaugh. Peackinpaugh also calls Western Ky games. In fact, Leo called his last Colonel game this past season after 25 or so years paired with Mr. Lackey the whole time. They begin each broadcast 1 &1/2 hours b4 kick-off and if there is a better overall production for a high school game, i'd love to hear it!

Not to mention Centre College Football and Basketball, 3 Div III Final Fours, and about 9 or more State Finals.

I agree that Spears does a fine job. Sass does what he does very well also.
