If any of those would work except moving, I would be shocked. I know at Beechwood, they will personally go out and inspect the address you are claiming and make sure you aren't trying to pull a fast one. If you aren't living there, they will find out. Highlands probably does the same thing.

 

I agree. My point was related to no longer being able to live in Highland Heights or Newport and pay tuition to go to school at Highlands. They are not accepting tuition/out of district students. A person must have a Ft. Thomas address.

I know of at least one student who was caught using a Ft Thomas address that didn't live there taken out of school over Christmas Break so they do check on these things

And to get back on topic, so we only have 2 school districts in the whole state of ky that does not have open enrollment, Boone Co and Shelby Co (and possibly Oldham). So every district in the state has open enrollment as long as there is capacity. So where is the unfair advantage again?

My point was a person has to have a Ft. Thomas address to go to school at Highlands. Those are the only 3 ways I can think of to have an address in Ft. Thomas. I wasn't claiming that someone was actually using a relatives address.

When 98% of county and independent schools follow the same rules, that sounds like a Boone/Shelby problem, not a Kentucky problem.

Because of capacity, highlands is no longer accepting applications for new tuition students starting last year I believe. If you were already paying, you are in but not taking new students.

Maintaining that approximate 800 enrollment number is getting tougher. Why not add some classroom space? HHS could easily attract 200-300 more students?

Christmas Break last year or Christmas Break last month? They closed in June of 2013 which means it is effective for current school year. If it was last month that someone came in as a tuition student you are correct.

Zero room to build except to go up which on an old building I imagine is pretty tough financially and otherwise.
