I told a co-worker after I informed him about Gruden that Hue will be the next OC most probably I always liked Hue and how much he is respected by the players. It was Hue that got Chad in line and was like a father figure to Chad early on. Chad really didn't start going nuts until after Hue left.

I have mixed feelings on Hue, either Dalton goes to new heights or it will be crash and burn. Here is hoping for new heights!
January 9, 201412 yr I was not as down on Gruden as others, because this offense got better each year under him and was a top 10 offense this year and 6th in the NFL in scoring. However since he is gone I do love the move of Hue Jackson being the OC. I think he will do a great job, and people should be happy because he definitely will emphasis the run more. So good move for all parties involved here.

I wasn't that hard on Gruden either although he had shown some questionable playcalling but then again I don't know if all of them were Dalton changing the play at the line or not with all his throws on 3rd and 1 etc. either way Gruden was a nice change from what we had but the problem I had with Gruden is he always tried to out think himself at times and instead of using the teams strengths he would force his scheme down our throats. Best example I can think of off the top of my head was the fiasco last year in the playoff game. Not to use AJ as part of the game plan in the first half of the game and just use him as a decoy. That alone should of got him fired then and there.

I think that's part of why the Bengals have moved so fast on this. They want to lock him up before Zim gets a chance to take him. I think he'll take Guenther with him as DC if he gets the Vikings job, which would mean Vontaze may not be a Bengal much longer.

Vontez has made it well known how much he likes Marvin Lewis, and how he was the one who approached Marvin during the pre-draft process. However if Zimmer is gone and Marvin say is gone after next year you could be right. But I think money will talk in Vontez's case. Remember he is playing under a free agent rookie contract right now. So chances are he holds out this year until the Bengals give him a new contract, so he probably will be locked up for years starting this off season.
