Going Back

Featured Replies

The Louisville thread has got me thinking. Has anyone ever gone back for a 2nd stint at the same Job? I'm not including people who were an assistant and came back as head coach but people who are doing the same job again?

Yep, I forgot about him and he's doing a great job.

Dudley Hilton left Bell County and then returned. Won a state title the first "tour of duty" at Bell and then won another on the second go around.

Mike Yeagle left beechwood (for health reasons) and then came back for a time. Not sure if that counts or not.

Rumor is Chuck Smith would go back to Boyle if Larry left.

My bad. I thought this was in the college football forum.

I posted it in both, all good.

Other than the two mentioned above in Yeagle and Hilton, I can't think of any at the high school level here in KY....

Brandon Combs at Ft Knox, Donnie Daniels at South Floyd, Mike Jones at Estill County

Chris McNamee is currently in his 2nd stint as head coach at Pikeville.

Not really the same but, Jay Cobb left Somerset for Christian County several years ago. Then quit Christian County and returned to Somerset within 30 days.

Dennis lampley did a second stint at Trinity, that was when he won 3 4a titles in a row, and set the state winning streak at 50 games.

Billy Goldsmith did it at Lawrence County.
