You and Clyde are spot on, there is ZERO chance Ruth guards Bolden. Don't be surprised to either see CVH on him, or start Romes to guard him in conjunction with some exotic defense.

I agree that McClendon will likely be put on Ruthsatz. He is Holmes' best defender and I think his quickness could give Ru some problems. Can he avoid foul trouble, though? Holmes needs him on the floor.

 

CVH can't guard Bolden. Nothing against the kid but simply not quick enough. If I'm Coach R, I'M double teaming any time he gets the ball and forcing others to beat me and I'm playing extremely physical against him. The one problem with that is Bolden got a taste of that in NY and it only made him better.

 

A zone is hit or miss against Holmes. They shot Brossart, Purcell Marian, Lville Southern, and St Henry out of it. LI Lutheran had success with it but they also have a D1 lineup and guards quick enough to recover against the penetration and kick out.

 

I'm also curious to see if Covcath can rebound with Holmes. Hill and Chames will both have an advantage in size and athleticism.

I think Holmes comes out and surprises everyone. Holmes by 16.

Keys for CCH: force Bolden to kick it to the wing, keep him out of the lane, and keep Chames off of the offensive boards.

 

If you get beat by the wings then you weren't meant to win.

Much like Newcath on Friday, my guess is Nick Ru tries to attack the rim and draw fouls to get in Holmes' bench. I'll be a little surprised if he settles for a lot of jump shots.

We were covering the 33rd finals that night between Cooper and Ryle so I wasn't there (was very bummed as I was getting updates). We were trying to get that game but Holmes AD, Mr. Steidl, doesn't allow live broadcasts.

I will definetly be getting video Tues night, though.
