Stenzel should be on there. Don't know how I overlooked him on my list. Another kid I really thought was good was Jalen Daniels.

 

I'm surprised Trevor Setty isn't getting more consideration. He was a stud. Still is. Won a national championship at Pikeville and now plays professionally overseas I believe.

Agree on Jaylen, he is now playing and starting for G-Town along with Bopper Stenzel. Trevor has had a great career. Another one ( not sure if it is this time frame) is Andrew Preston of GRC. Played at Belmount and overseas in Japan.

I know this is rabbit trailing a little bit, and I know from a individual statistical standpoint this might not make sense, but when it comes to creating a team, I'm not too sure I wouldn't include a couple of Lofton's teammates from their championship and runner-up teams.

 

That team won a state title with a bunch of juniors and sophs, none of whom were over 6'2". If you're looking to stack a "second tier", start thinking guys like Wes Jones and Dustin Grutza. Add Trevor Setty from the next state championship squad. Give me Corey Rodgers from Clark County any day of the week - tireless worker (much like BB's Cooper).

 

And how soon we (seemingly) forget. Mason Monroe should be in the discussion.

Whenever I think of that team, I recall a story that a guy who lives outside of the 10th region told me. He said during Lofton's junior year, he had heard all the "fuss" about how good that team was. So he decided to go watch them play. He said that he got there during warmup and thought to himself, what is all the fuss about. Mainly referring to their lack of being physically imposing.

But as he recalled, "when the ball went in the air", he quickly understood, what the "fuss" was about.
