December 30, 201312 yr Browns and Vikings have requested permission to interview Adam Gase, the Broncos OC. This was his first season as OC, which means since he's in Denver, he's never had any experience as either a HC or coordinator. Disaster written all over it for whatever team hires him IMO.

It's funny because Jimmy Haslem just said he wants a winning football coach who knows how to win football games. Not sure Gase is that guy right now. Of course his numbers look good but man look who his QB is. Some teams crack me up when they get young coordinators off loaded teams thinking they are responsible for the offense. Peyton calls the plays not Gase.

I thought Manning was the OC in Denver?
December 30, 201312 yr Mark Ennis @Mengus22 2h No no no. RT @jimdunaway: Mike Shula...Tampa Bay is calling? OH HELL NO!! They can't be that stupid, can they?
December 30, 201312 yr It's Zimmer, not Zimmerman. That's just stupid if that's the way it happens. Gruden has been highly questionable as a coordinator the past couple seasons IMO. Not sure what more Zimmer has to do to get a shot. Guy is a genius on the defensive side of the ball. The one thing about Gruden is we see every single offensive play call he makes. People from the outside see a guy who took an offense that was being completely replaced with a new QB, WR's, and RB and has had them in the playoffs the last 3 years, and this year now has the offense as a top 10 offense. You add that along with his name being a Gruden, and having experience running a team as a head coach in other leagues, and that is probably why he is mentioned so often.
December 30, 201312 yr Tony Dungy @TonyDungy 1h Saw on ProFootballlTalk the Bucs are considering Rich McKay and Lovie Smith. Those would be best moves they could make.

RealGM Football: Wiretap Archives: Vikings Interested In Interviewing Both Bengals' Coordinators Along those same lines, saw a tweet that said the Redskins would give strong consideration to Jay Gruden when the Bengals season is over.

January 2, 201412 yr Chudzinksi is owed $10.5M . Just curious, does he still get that money even if he signs with another team as their OC?
January 2, 201412 yr They're a joke. They've had what, 6 coaches in the last 8 years? This team isn't close to winning. You have to give a coach a chance. Hell, they could've at least waited until he got his QB in there. Even the Raiders have given Dennis Allen more than a year. Romeo Crennel 2005-2008 Eric Mangini 2009-2010 Pat Shurmur 2011-2012 Rob Chudzinski 2013 If losing the locker room was the reason, and I'm not saying it wasn't, that was no where in the Press Conference I listened to. At least be up front to your fan base about the reason. I just don't buy the "He's our guy" and then less than a year after hiring him, "It just didn't work out." Any reasonable Browns fan will say there was much improvement from the last regime in most areas of the game. The biggest downer was not finishing games and that comes from experience. This is a very young team with a lot of talent despite what some on here would say. 10 draft picks in 2014 draft, 7 out of the first 100. It will be interesting to see where they go with their selections. I'll say this, to me, there aren't many NFL-ready QBs in this year's draft, nobody I'd be willing to take a chance on especially with the Browns recent QB draft history. If Hoyer can get healthy, I'm willing to roll with him as our starting QB. As I have said in other threads, I think the Richardson trade ended up being a genius move for the Cleveland franchise.
January 2, 201412 yr ^Can't remember where I saw it, but read somewhere that Chudzinski wasn't high on Manziel and the Browns brass want him. Major factor in his ousting. Not sure of the truth to it, but :idunno:

The only one I've really seen enough to evaluate is Bridgewater, but not sure about him either.
January 2, 201412 yr Just out of curiosity, is there anyone you're impressed with QB wise coming out? The only one I've really seen enough to evaluate is Bridgewater, but not sure about him either. There's no superstars IMO. My favorite one coming out is McCarron. Think Manziel is a huge risk, think Teddy will be solid, but nothing spectacular, and think Bortles is simply the flavor of the week. Carr from Fresno State is intriguing, but I can't help but think the failures of his brother could impact his stock a bit. Murray and Mettenberger could be big time steals in the 3rd-5th rounds due to their injuries. Haven't seen anything regarding Hundley's decision, and it appears Mariota is serious about returning, but I think those are the two best NFL prospect QBs that could be in the draft.
