December 30, 201312 yr Teams supposedly considering firing their coach: Dolphins Titans Lions I can't imagine the Lions not firing Schwartz.
December 30, 201312 yr Author What's the point? The guy couldn't go out there and toss the football around for their awful QBs or drop back into pass coverage in a secondary where the most veteran player has been in the league about three years... I agree. Made the playoffs last year. Had a horrible QB situation this year and had to work with an unhealthy AP. Just didn't work out but it's definitely not all his fault. Now I will say that AP rushing for 2000+ yards the year before probably tacked on an extra win or two so Fraziers numbers from the year before probably had more to do with AP but the fact still remains that this Vikings team sucked because they have a horrid offense outside of AP. That's on the GM not the coach.
December 30, 201312 yr Author If Jason Garrett is back in Dallas next year I will be very surprised. Really don't see them firing him.
December 30, 201312 yr Teams supposedly considering firing their coach: Dolphins Titans Lions If the Dolphins fire Phiblin, it's a direct result from the Martin/Incognito fiasco. No way can that be performance driven.
December 30, 201312 yr If the Dolphins fire Phiblin, it's a direct result from the Martin/Incognito fiasco. No way can that be performance driven. Only had to beat the Bills or Jets in last two games to make the playoffs. That doesn't help.
December 30, 201312 yr Chudzinksi is owed $10.5M . Is this the same ownership that hired him to begin with? If so, then they're a joke. You bring a guy in for a year with a revolving door at QB, and you trade your #1 draft choice from a couple years ago by game 3..and then decide that you don't have the right guy at the helm? Maybe they should look in the mirror.

Ownership actually told him to discipline a player to make a statement and letting it come from him so he could show he was in charge but he wouldn't do it. Seemed to be very passive and ultimately lost control of the team. After starting 4-5 the Browns lost 7 straight to end the season 4-12. No progression from the team as the season went on. It was the right move to fire him.
December 30, 201312 yr Kent Babb @kentbabb 59m Robert Griffin III just packed up and drove out his SUV out of the parking lot. There goes the happiest man at Redskins Park.
December 30, 201312 yr Kent Babb @kentbabb 1h It pays well, sure, but the roster is jacked, QB is a diva/head case, owner is a meddlesome maniac, and there's no 1st-rd pick. Terrible job

December 30, 201312 yr You should never fire a head coach after one season, especially when you're the laughing stock of the league like the Browns are. They're a train-wreck, and I can't imagine anyone wanting that job.

Teams fire coaches after one season all the time. At the time maybe they seemed like the right fit but if they've lost the locker room within one season and they are passive and won't discipline players then he doesn't fit the ownerships philosophy and obviously it's not going to work out.

They're a joke. They've had what, 6 coaches in the last 8 years? This team isn't close to winning. You have to give a coach a chance. Hell, they could've at least waited until he got his QB in there. Even the Raiders have given Dennis Allen more than a year.
