This is similar to when Fox fell for and reported the hoax of Obama continuing to fund some Muslim museum during the government shutdown. When the right complains about the "mainstream media," it's usually over what is NOT being reported, as opposed to actual story presentation.

They have already been listed for you. I learned 30 years ago that the words facts or truth are not in the liberals dictionary.

Fox is as bad and can be worse than other MSM outlets. Fox had lied about things to help the current administration. MSM is really any of the TV big 3 and the cable outlets - including Fox itself - and the newpapers. The common thread is the lack of true, objective, independent investigative journalism.

 

The broader threat is that with the lack of investigative journalism the press becomes an simple conduit of messages generated by the government. Its not new. Tugging on Superman's (or the Messiah's) cape is not easy and result in blow back (or a sudden heart attack). The broad media did not want to cover Watergate and that lack of coverage gave the Nixon administration cover to challenge and attack WaPo since WaPo was the only one running the stories. It almost worked.

 

Today there is no Woodward and Berstein. Sheryl Atkinson at CBS was doing well digging into Benghazi. But her computer has been hacked and she is getting little support from CBS. It hard to ignore that the brother of the man accused of changing the Benghazi talking points is a top adviser to Obama and his brother is the President of CBS News. No conflict of interest there - sarc off.

For the most part, I agree with your analysis. The bottom line is the bottom line. That's why there are no Woodward and Bernsteins today. Most media outlets are owned by publicly traded companies, and the profit motive trumps all else. Just look at the gosh-awful state of TV news reporting up here in Greater Cincinnati, as well as the significant decline of the Enquirer.

 

Declining ad revenues simply no longer support first-class news gathering.

Unless you define your terms, no one will give you the attention you merit. I'll help some. First thing to do is define "mainstream media" in terms of news sources -- TV, radio, newspapers, web sites, magazines etc. Tell us who's a part of this coverup cabal and who's not.

 

Well....you could get your head out of ...the sand...and start with the subject of this thread...Barbara Walters has been considered about as mainstream as you get. But again, I have given up on rational process from my afore-mentioned "self-declared liberals" because in my mind when one "self-declares" due process and logic is already eliminated.

The only reason the Guard was called out was because of the destruction caused by the demonstrators.
