December 27, 201312 yr Author Okay, I'm trying to figure out what time I need to get down there and how to manage an area for us, so if everyone can tell me a time they expect to be there it would be greatly appreciated. I will likely still get there between 5 and 5:30, but I need to see what I can set up with them at the Hofbrauhaus. So far we have: plantmanky around 7 MentschTrachtGottLacht around 6 Also, do any of you on the Possible List think you will be there?
December 27, 201312 yr Doesn't look like I will make it. Am posting this from the ER. Been here since 6am. Kidney stones. I will still try but doesn't look promising Ouch! I fell ya brother. Went through that torture myself. Hope you don't mind this long explanation and advise... If your doctors don't take the time to discuss with you a diet to avoid them, (like mine didn't, as they were most interested in gaining financially from the necessary operations, but didn't have the time for me to council me, as I think that they were hoping to one day perform more operations), I discovered that a diet LOW in OXALATES and SODIUM is key. My personal problem came from fiending on smokehouse almonds. I stopped all of that, and have been clear for well over 10 years, after never having a history of stones before my first experience with them, and haven't had a problem since. By choice, I don't even see a Urologist anymore, and am doing fine. Do some research online to what foods are high in oxalates and avoid them like the plague. Careful with your sodium intake, and drink drink drink plenty of water, and cut any alcohol consumption with plenty of water as well, because it will dehydrate you. Not saying not to drink, but just make sure to keep yourself well diluted with water. Pee standing up, preferably with both legs planted firmly to the floor, and make sure you perform the task to total completion. Make a point too of relieving your bladder completely at bedtime without fail as well. Good luck going through your present condition, and have faith that you're gonna get through, and hopefully be able to put it all behind you. If you have to go through ureteral stents and operations, I feel your pain, but ultimately you'll be fine. If you truly continue to need a Urologist in the future, that's one thing and very important, but be careful of those who want to x-ray you to death a few times a year, and suggest unnecessary operations after they've initially helped clear you up, and make sure that their analysis of you comes from a non-invasive, unharmful urinalysis from time to time. Wishing you well, and hopefully a kidney stone free future. Hang in there.

This will be #13 over the past 15 years. I have a urologists and as far as the chemical the body produces to battle stones I my body produces more than enough. It's just one of those things that I'm lucky enough to get a lot of stones and yes it sux But the morphine helps a lot. I just passed 1 here in the Er but waiting to see how many the CT scan showed. So waiting on the dr.

December 27, 201312 yr Should we have an "Updates" thread? I can bring my iPad Mini. Hofbrauhaus has free WiFi to my understanding.
December 27, 201312 yr Just as I over analyzed even attending ( No worries, I got that all sorted out in my head thanks to everyone's support and encouragement), but have been pondering when to show. If the NKU/UNC game does play on the bar's TV, I want to show up at least before I'm tempted to be consumed by that, but still think that "fashionably kind of late" is the way to go. I'm guessing that I'll aim for 6:15 ish after the rush hour traffic is gone? I see from their website that they offer a low calorie lighter beer with less alcohol content that sounds tempting, and will slow me up from getting smashed. Like I said before, I don't have a drinking problem, but just as every other person who drinks has experienced, that first sign of a buzz seems to encourage the feeling that "Hell with controlling myself, keep'em coming". Nope... even in that state of mind, I try to do my best to understand that misguided feeling, and keep it chill. If they had a domestic low-carb offering I'd be o.k. with that, but their website doesn't suggest they offer anything other than their own brewed product. I think the place is a great choice with their table layout that should allow for a sense of unity. It sort of reminds me of an old fashioned European schoolhouse set up, which has me picturing all of us sitting there taking a quiz. There won't be any old nuns there cracking us in the knuckles with a ruler will there? Anyhow 6:15 - 6:30 ish I think is where my head is at. Gettin' excited as this all sounds really cool and is a brilliant idea!

John Ellison, a Highlands Dad, will happily reserve an area for us if you let him know how many you expect. He runs the joint, knows we're coming, but he leaves at 5:00 today.
December 27, 201312 yr That would be fantastic! If we could get into the back room it would be perfect. In there, you can hear each other talk and there isn't all the chaos of the main room.

I believe they have a few TV's, but you probably won't be able to hear them over all the talking, yelling and oompah band.
