I still contend the SEC streak of titles is not celebrated enough. Think about 1 conference winning that many championships in a row. Especially given the difficulty of going unscathed and the uncertainties with college football. Just to have a representative in the BCS title game is crazy enough, but for all of those to be one game, winner take all scenarios and win them is nothing short of amazing.

Yep, and that's why I'm not betting against the Tigers. Plus, we all know FSU is good for at least one clunker every year. They haven't had that yet, so they're due. :D

They are typically good for one "belly up" performance each season ;) Problem is their opponent, on defense, just treats it like 7 on 7 drills. :lol2:

FSU already had their hiccup - it was merely beating Boston College 48-34.

Also, I believe the "clunker" that FSU usually has is against an out of nowhere opponent, almost always on the road and typically on Thursday night. Are you all saying that Auburn is an out of nowhere opponent?

Florida had the second best defense in the SEC and was ranked 10th nationally. Unfortunately for Florida their offense couldn't score more td's(26) than their defense allowed(27) so their 4-7 record is the result. The point I am trying to make is that for all the SEC rah rah rah talk, FSU has faced a top notch SEC defense and they put 37 on them. This game very well could be a shootout but I don't see Auburn being able to slow down FSU's offense. Especially since Auburn's defense isn't even one of the top 50 in the nation.

Surprised about FL's defensive ratings, didn't Vandy put about the same as FSU on them? They must have held some other teams down.

I can't invest a whole lot in to Florida. They lost to a mid-level 1-AA team and said team did not throw a pass against them and rushed for 420 yards. If that is a top 10 national defense then defenses are worse than they already are.

Exactly. So add that knowledge with the fact that Auburn is allergic to defense and well.......

No one scored more on Florida than FSU. Mizzou put up 36 and Vandy put up 34.

Florida's numbers are undoubtedly boosted by playing both UK and UT, neither of which do much offensively. But they did OK against Georgia (23) and very well against South Carolina (19) and LSU (17).

Everyone's forecasting a Florida State win over Auburn, I heard the line was 9 points, but after reviewing their schedule I'm not really impressed anymore with what they've accomplished this year than what Auburn has done. I mean really, who have they played of any significance. They defeated Clemson but so did South Carolina. They defeated Miami, but the Hurricanes proved as the season wore on that they were not as strong as once thought. They defeated an injury-riddled Florida team that's only won 4 games this season, and everyone else of significance in the SEC had also beaten. They beat the snot out if Duke but what's impressive about that.

I'm going to say Auburn wins this one in a close game. I like the SEC's chances in any championship game, although I will admit though that Florida State is about as similar to an SEC team as can be.

Auburn by a touchdown, 38-31.

If FSU was hanging on to victories I would hear you a little more. But they have obliterated everyone on their schedule, whether the opponents have been good or bad. So in that sense FSU has done what they are supposed to do.

No one has said otherwise. Doesn't mean what they've done has been any more impressive than what Auburn has done.

They don't hand out trophies for being impressive. They hand out trophies for winning championships.
