If #41 doesn't make one of the more athletic plays that you will see, NewCath has the ball at midfield w 1:38 to go and the momentum. That was a special effort and won the title.

I would imagine that #15 for NCC with 9 catches for 203 yards might be a school record for a game and I wonder how high it ranks in State final games?

DONNELLY DOES IT: Senior receiver Tommy Donnelly's 203 receiving yards against DeSales set a NewCath single-game record, breaking Adam Reedy's mark of 187 set in 1990 against Danville.

 

SUTKAMP TACKLES RECORD: Senior linebacker Jack Sutkamp was credited with 14.5 tackles (11 solo), including three for losses Saturday, giving him 209.5. That broke Steve Smith's 19-year-old single-season record of 207 tackles set in 1995.

 

FRANZEN MOVES UP: Senior quarterback Mac Franzen's career-high 318 passing yards against DeSales is the second-highest single-game total in school history, behind only Sam Diehl's 321 yards against Bellevue in 2003. Franzen finished the season with 2,305 passing yards and 27 touchdowns. The yardage number is the school's fourth-highest single-season total. The TD number ranks third in a season. His 143 completions rank tied for third. His 243 passing attempts rank fifth.

Are you serious with this post? You don't think that game was EVER in jeopardy of going NCC way? Retread what you just wrote. The Colts were up 34-13 in the 4h quarter. NCC missed 2 extra point and , they had a return kick called back in my math addition that counts for 9 possible points. There is no way the Colts never got rattled. They were a very good but they were also playing a very good team. Give these young men more credit then they played great just to stay around. Maybe it's just me but I will never understand the hate that people have for this school.
