Schedules are out for the 7th Grade D-1 State Tourney this weekend.

 

KY Royals (NKY kids) play Team Warrior @3:30pm on Sat and FOCUS at 6pm same day.

 

Does anyone know much about these two teams (Team Warrior or FOCUS) ? I believe the FOCUS group is from Louisville.

Welcome to the site WFF. I had the chance of seeing the Ashland 2nd grade team at state and they are truly amazing. It is unbelievable how disciplined their group of 7 and 8 year olds are. They easily won the 2nd grade state tournament with little resistance from anyone. They were fun to see play.

Ok so the KY Royals had a rough day losing to Team Warrior and FOCUS out of Louisville but I have never in my life seen a referee act the way I saw one act today in the 2nd game at KBA.

 

This guy was in his late 40's and he was almost struttin up and down the court with swag, twirling his whistle during timeouts, grabbing his JUNK at halfcourt while watching the action. He was acting like Jamie Kennedy in Malibu's Most Wanted, pretty much like a rapper wannabe. He even made a pass at the Royals head coach Tricia Macke. Who does this guy think he is? I called him a D-Bag and told him to stop grabbing his junk that there were children in the stands. His face got red and he stopped but he seemed to be out there just goofin off, talking to the fans, watching games on other courts while the ball was in play. Does anyone know who I am talking about? Two parents complained about him and the guy at the desk said they would talk to him.

 

I actually told the other referee what he was doing when he was inbounding a ball near me and he laughed and said, yea he has been called out before about the same stuff. Wow is all I can say.

I was there. We stayed after our game to watch your sons game.... we know a couple of your players. Your story is spot on about this ref. The other ref should make a complaint about his partner. The officials at KBA are VERY bad but this guy was way over the line.

Its pretty bad when the kids on the team were laughing saying the Ref told their coach she smelled good. LOL

The boys were saying there is a Div 1 7th Grade team W.A C.G who scored over 100 on Friday night and had kids dunking in warm ups. Does anyone know where this group is from? They sound pretty impressive.

In 13U Div 1 7th Grade action KY Royals edge Shining Stars 56-55 to advancing to the Semi-Finals.

 

Logan Harrod hit 2 FTs down 1 with 2 sec left. I Heard it was a great game and was getting text updates from the wife. SS led by as many as 11 but the Royals shots started falling in 2nd half. Quentin Becker and Alex Starkey both had nice games for the Royals along with Harrod.

KBA consistently has the worst refs anywhere we play. About 1 out of 3 games will be called well. You just never know what to expect. During the state tourney we nearly got hosed because one of the refs had a grandson playing. After 4 phantom calls some of our parents informed us of this and it was addressed(but should have never happened to begin with). Legitimately you have maybe 6 people who can call and the rest have no business being on the floor. I actually had a ref ask me a tourney their this year if I wanted it "called loose or aggressive". How the heck do you respond to that, lol? I wish their was somewhere closer than Mid-America in Lville to play on a consistent basis to give KBA a run(and yes Mid-Americas refs are better). Last year during the league play at KBA my son was kicked in the face after the play was already whistled. Ref(young black hair chubby man with glasses) said it looked like it was accidental, lol.

Big Tourney in Cincinnatti this weekend. We play the 2nd Grade Ohio Hoopsters and Starboyz Elite in Pool play. Anyone know anything about these two teams?(And no KyYank no responses please, lol)
