Ashland chooses not to play Rose Hill in 2006-2007

Seeding? Great idea. Of course, we would need to seed the Sweet Sixteen. Think what that would usually do to the 16th Region. On the other hand, we would see the best teams advance and "clean out" the weak region champions. If seeding is the "manly" thing to do for the districts, surely it is the "manly" thing to do for the state tournament. How can you "seeders" disagree with that?

AT41 seems to be suffering from that same "legends in our own mind disease" as does Onetoya. It is only contageous for those who wear maroon.

I would agree, but how would you seed the Sweet 16? The teams don't play during the season to base a seed on. Would you use Dave Cantrell's rankings?

Since there is not a easier way to do it, the draw works for the State tourney. But why play the district games if you aren't going to seed? It makes them meaningless IMO.

AT41, if you want it seeded here (64th District), your argument is weak if you don't want it seeded there (Rupp Arena). Or, are you saying you don't want it seeded here or there?

Of course you would seed the Sweet Sixteen just as you seed the NCAA tournament. there would always be a little complaining and homering but it would, in the end produce a much better and more exciting tournament. We don't need Region 11 vs. Region 9 and Region 14 vs. Region 16. If you can't argue for seeding all the way, you have no convincing argument. We do "semi-seed" the regional tournamnets but we should completely seed it also. Again, use an independent committee just as does the NCAA.

I would like it seeded whereever it would be feasible to do so!

I just don't see how you can seed the Sweet 16 when there is no games to base it on, except some meaningless rankings!

Wow. Interesting. Thats Fine, its your opinion and you are completely entitled to it. I would rather have the "legends in our own mind disease" than the "we always get picked on by big bad Ashland, we never do anything wrong, 2 years of glory, and some good 8th graders disease".

sad, but so very true.

:fire:

As I said above, the committee approach works for the NCAA tournament. It will surely work for the Sweet Sixteen. Of course, the 14th, 15th, and 16th Regions wouldn't fare much better than do Fairfield, Liberty, and Monmouth.

The give and take has been relaxing. Good night to all.

I can't speak for AT41 but I do think I have a legacy to pass down to the kids here at Ashland  Been there done that.....How about you scooterbob ever won a Championship?? How about a couple, four, or five??? Don't try to apease me with your fatter.

As much as I would like to find a way to end this nonsense you guys seem to find another way to prod the big guy on the block. Poke enough and you'll get what you wish...I guess :sssh:

Like I said, if they could do it fairly, then I have no problem seeding the Sweet 16! The teams have to win anyway to advance. And how does the 14th, 15th, or 16th fair any better now! Not since Paintsville won it in 1996 with Ashland the runner-up has any team from the 14th, 15th, or 16th really done anything anyway!

I agree completely, very well said!

What if Ashland were to lose to Rose Hill in districts? Would Ashland choose to not even play distric next year?

I could care less about seeding. Seed, dont seed, seedless, full of seeds, whatever. The only seed Im concerned with are my own.

What if what if what if. That scenario is totally unrelated to this discussion. You cannot logically compare a schools right to schedule whomever they choose in the regular season, versus playing in post season tournaments.

And if I am not mistaken (no sarcasm intended, ha) Ashland's State Runner-up finish in 1996 was when they were PGB not old Ashland High School Scooterbob! So in the last 10 years, Ashland PGB has gone farther than your RH Royals did even when they had OJ!!

How are they doing in the last five years as good?

What about the Belfry thing and them not wanting to schedule Rose Hill next year?

Well they would have to in order to make Regionals! Your comment makes no sense.

Ashland has no problem with Belfry. I don't understand your post!
