First off, congratulations to SK and uk#1fan. I'm pulling for you guys now that Dixie's season is done.

 

Washington was held out with an ankle injury from about the second quarter on. I know more but don't want to break his privacy.

 

Dixie's passing attack was slightly off last night but I believe it was in the gameplan to throw more than usual. Not for certain though.

 

SK's o-line did a great job of keeping Kuntz clean last night.

 

Not sure what it is about Powell that makes him so hard to tackle but Dixie struggled bringing him down last night.

 

A big thank you goes out to the seniors on the Dixie team for all the hard work and leadership that they displayed throughout this year and their careers. I wish you all the best. You boys did a fantastic job and have nothing to hang your heads about.

I'd have to say it was certainly part of their game plan. While waiting in line to get a hot chocolate I was talking to another fan and we both acknowledged how Dixie was acting like they wanted to pass the ball more than SK. It was on the very next play that Drew Moore got picked off and I couldn't help but think that perhaps Dixie's thinking they could exploit a weakness cost them because passing certainly hadn't been one of their strengths. That's the hard part about playing a good team twice in one season is you really have to look for different ways to win that second time around and while Dixie did have some success with the pass they also had two costly turnovers that really hurt them.

 

As for tackling Powell it's so crazy to watch because he's literally like a pin ball. He just bounces off of would be tacklers, it's not like he runs over people, has a killer stiff arm or any special move he just runs hard with the ball and doesn't quit after the first or second level of contact.

My understanding is that it was in the game plan going into the game.

SK did great job pressuring Moore with blitzes he has great escape ability.

A word of advice...Time to move on SK and get ready for the next game. If this is going to be your signature win for the season then your season will be over...Just sayin
