Besides rallying Dems, Bill Clinton has the star power to get the female voters (in Ft. Thomas, for instance) to take a closer look at the female Democratic candidate. As for turnout, the candidates themselves and the issues are the only thing that's going to turn out voters, not who campaigned for them. Clinton didn't like Obama and even brought up racial issues during the campaign for the 2008 nomination. Didn't work out hurting Obama then and it won't hurt Mitch now.
