As Rockmom had said with her son, I was always brought up to walk away from bullying, etc. That it took a bigger person/man to walk away than it did to fight. I guess that's not the way people raise their children anymore. Sure makes me glad I had the parents I did though, I know that much.

 

My parents always told me there is a time to turn the other cheek and there is a time to take a stand. He trusted my judgement and it's led to pretty good results in my life.

Is this a serious question? Is murder acceptable?

I've always felt hazing to some level is always right of passage type deal. Football is an extreme physical sport with dozens of wealthy people in each locker room. It's going to lead to big ego's and more extreme hazing.

 

I've said it over and over I don't agree with Richie's actions. But I think there is right way and wrong way to handle these situations. I think Martin chose the wrong way as a man.

This wasn't making a guy carry pads or wear a pink backpack to practice... it was something much different. Clearly this overstepped those bounds.

He instructed Incognito and the rest of them to "toughen up" Martin, and he turned a blind eye when it got out of hand. He's just as despicable a human being as Incognito, and everyone in that locker room shares a chunk of the blame.

You are 100% correct Richie took it much further than anyone should. But it still doesn't change the fact that Martin went outside the trust of his teammates to handle this situation.

 

There is a difference between approval and understanding the reality.

I haven't read anything from Richie. All he has said is "no comment" and "it will all come out eventually".

I think the real question is how often these "bounds" are overstepped relative to other NFL organizations. My guess is this is all just common behavior amongst all clubs but Martin didn't want any part of it, right or wrong.

I would say the NFL embraces said culture. My guess is the Dolphin's locker room mimics that of 31 other franchises.

As I said earlier, Incognito is a jerk.
