Game was very close till Scott turned the ball over twice in the 4th.

At least the gum flapping should now end.

Penalties killed Scott tonight. Though there was one call where penalties offset, and they still moved Scott 5 yards back.

Kind of what I figured the game would be. Scott had a great year for them, congrats on a school record setting season! I hope Scott can co tinge to improve next year, not sure who they will be losing to graduation and who will be returning. This district is really a coin flip on the 4 teams, any of them can beat eachother IMO on any given night. Good luck in the playoffs to all 4 teams that made it.

The penalties were not offsetting. They were both dead ball fouls which get enforced. In this case, Since Conner's penalty occurred first, it got enforced first. Scott was inside the 20, so it was a half the distance to the goal walk off. Then when Scott's penalty was enforced (the second foul), it got walked back the full 15, so Scott lost 7.5 yards on the play.

 

Too many penalties, too much reliance on the run. If Scott was any threat to throw the ball, I think they win both of these last two games. Barker played well, and threw a few long bullets. He played much better in this years game than last years game. The go ahead touchdown pass was a rocket. I think the Scott DB got surprised at how quickly the ball got there from 40 yards away, and could only stand an watch even though he was in decent position. Even with all the issues, Scott had a chance......they got the ball back with over 5 minutes and a chance to take the lead, but fumbled on the first play. Still a good year, but a tough matchup in the playoffs, heading to Franklin County for the 3rd year in a row.

 

I heard a bunch of our fans complaining about officiating. Yes Scott had more penalties called, but we got a few good spots, and really most of the penalties were legit. Bottom line, Barker made a few big plays, and our defense didn't.

It is truly is amazing the game is over, all the twitter stuff calmed down until now, Drew Barker begins from where he left off Monday night.... I can only assume coaches at Conner did not address the issue. At the next level stuff like this can seriously backfire. Hopefully Drew learns soon. Don't get me wrong, he is a great player on the field, it is off the field mainly through social media for him that worries me.
