If Bailey and Arroyo are gone but Chapman is still here there is a 99.9% chance Chapman is the other starter. In fact I'd say there is a 99.9% chance the 5th starter is one of those 3 barring injury.
October 29, 201312 yr ESPN'S Buster Olney is reporting the Angels are seeking a pitcher and willing to offer Peter Bourjos or/and Mark Trumbo. Might be the time to make the trade if you can get the two. Trumbo is capable of playing left/right field.

Trumbo is under contract until 2017 and could hit 40+ HRs playing in GABP. Bourjos would be a great 4th OF'er to have as well in case Hamilton isn't ready for everyday duty in CF. Heck, they're willing to give up Kendrick too....I'd offer them Bailey, BP, and a prospect or two for Bourjos, Trumbo, and Kendrick. Kill 2 birds with one stone? :idunno:
October 29, 201312 yr I wouldn't at all be surprised if they work out an agreement with Arroyo where they agree that the Reds will offer him a QO and he'll agree to decline it so the Reds can get the draft pick and Arroyo can go get his multi-year deal on the market. That would be illegal. The whole hang up would be a team willing to give up a pick to sign Arroyo. And no on can guarantee that.

Kill 2 birds with one stone? :idunno: You'd be getting robbed blind. Trumbo is nothing more than a RH Adam Dunn without the walks. Defensively, he's not quite as bad, but that's a decent comp. Bourjos is less valuable than Heisey. One of the few guys I'd consider dealing Bailey for would be a package centered around Jackson Profar. Bailey should bring a huge return on the trade market. I would do Phillips for Kendrick straight up.

October 30, 201312 yr At what cost? That's the million dollar questions & quite frankly I haven't thought about it enough to give a good answer. The Angels are an interesting trade partner, though. They have a big right handed bat (Trumbo) that they're willing to deal. Trumbo plays LF & 3B (both of which could work in Cincinnati). They also have a relatively young outfielder that is intriguing because of his speed (Bourjos) and a quality 2nd baseman in Kendrick. Add that to the fact that LA has the payroll "flexibility" to take on BP's contract, and I think they become one of the most likely trade partners for Cincy.
