October 23, 201312 yr Tim Lincecum (20 wins and an ERA of 4.76 combined the last 2 years) just signed a contract extension for 2 years at $17.5 million per year. I would prefer the Reds trade Cueto.
October 23, 201312 yr Good lord what is Arroyo going to get if Smokey Joe got that? I'd guess that he won't get as much as Lincecum. I'm fine with trading Homer, not interested in trading Cueto at all.

Ummm....a fraction of what Lincecum got. 20 wins and an ERA of 4.76 combined the last 2 years - $34M 26 wins and an ERA of 3.76 ERA last two year from Bronson. I'd be more willing to throw $35M at him than Tim. Tim is younger (Will be 30) but he is no spring chicken. I don't see his numbers improving much. A fraction? Arroyo is getting at least $10M a year from someone.
October 23, 201312 yr If you can guarantee me we won't see "half-a-season Cueto" then I'm cool with trading my boy Homer IF you get something really good. You don't trade a 27 year old pitcher who shows up every game and with an ERA in the 3.50 range UNLESS you feel really strong about Cueto giving you 190+ innings. I'm not there. I don't feel comfortable with Cueto giving me that type of season. Why should I?

Sure he has struggled to stay healthy but when he has been on the hill he has been one of the best in the bigs. I'm not willing to deal our ace unless the deal overwhelmingly favors the Reds.

Two years is a time-frame that certainly suits your side of the debate. When you expand the window the disparity grows dramatically. You want a side-bet on whether or not Arroyo gets $10 million per year? I'll take the under. Crafty doesn't get paid like throw it by you. Never has. Never will.

He'll be 37 next season, I stand by my he'll be I'd be shocked if he got less than $10M....Hell, the Reds are pretty likely to make him a qualifying offer, which would be 1 year @ $14M so they can get the comp. pick.
