For everybody saying it would have fell over anyway...no big deal. Well it had been there for centuries and hadn't fell over on it's own.

 

Thinking that way can I go into Mammoth Cave break off the stalactites and stalagmites since they'll fall sooner or later anyway?

How about running my truck into some of the historical stone fences in central KY, they'll just fall over sooner or later anyway.

Can I come to your house and break all of your light bulbs? They are just going to burnout sooner or later?

How about setting the Daniel Boone National Forest on fire, sooner or later lightning will do it anyway?

I skipped plenty of rocks into a lake and creek as a kid and I am pretty sure rocks in Kentucky and rocks in Utah are the same age. I guess I should have went to "juvy"....:lol2:

It didn't look destroyed. It still looked like a rock to me.

 

Formation was destroyed so the next people through will not get the chance to see it. It's important that they come down hard on anyone they can catch destroying or taking things from protected areas so that the areas can last as long as possible for future visitors' enjoyment.

I didn't say they didn't do anything wrong. If it's against the law, it's against the law. I just think it's ridiculous.

Not at any point in time would the thought of doing that cross my mind, whether it's illegal or not. I'm just not going to get all bent out of shape about some guys breaking a rock in two.

 

It's against the law and they will pay. I'm fine with that.
