Format change on BGP?

Featured Replies

Logged in after lunch this afternoon and found some slight changes to the BGP layout. Was wondering if it's my computer, or if everyone else is experiencing it.

The two things that I noticed, was:

1.) The "What's New" button is no longer on the left-hand side under the various forums. Instead its on the upper right-hand side next to my username. This is no biggie, just took awhile to find it.

2.) There's no "Latest Unread" (or whatever it was called) link in the individual threads, that jumps me down the thread to the newer posts that I haven't seen since the last time I opened it. IMO, this will be greatly missed...especially in some of those long threads. I probably will end up missing a bunch of posts, as I'll go straight to the end.

Anybody else finding the same thing?

I am hoping this is a mistake and will be corrected. It is a real nuisance without the last unread option. It will be much more difficult to read threads.

I just tried to bold point 2 and it didn't work. I think thinks have been changed, and not for the better. Hopefully these are glitches and will be fixed.

I just read Randy Parker's sticky on the wide/narrow viewing...so obviously they are doing some work on the site. I trust the powers-that-be know what they're doing.

I'm sure there are more changes to come.

I for one do not like the new look of the site. It looks more like an amateur site than the professional site that BGP has become.

I don't like the black banner across the top of the page that has the "Bluegrasspreps" word in it...Looks tacky.

I liked the look and feel of it before. I'm sure there's a good reason why they decided to change though.

Please keep us posted on any issues, this is a work in progress.

Just noticed that the "like" button is at the upper right hand part of a post instead of the lower right.

Not sure if it's supposed to be that way though.

Just noticed that the "like" button goes along with how much text is written. A short post puts it in the upper right hand corner, and a longer post has it on the lower right.

I liked it before the change that was before the last one. Not too thrilled.

More ads to wade through, which I do not care for.

I can live with the movement of the various buttons (What's New, Like) to different spots. I can even deal with the black border at the top. But, IMO, if there's one thing that I absolutely loved (and obviously, would like you to bring back), is the Last Unread option.

Default BGP Wide/Narrow Viewing

You'll notice a bit of a change in appearance on BGP today, with one of the differences being a narrower layout (fixed-width layout) for the site. Paid members can switch back to the WIDE layout by taking the following steps:

1) Click on "Account" at the top right corner

2) Click on "General Settings" in the "My Settings" content box

3) Scroll all the way to the bottom & click "Yes" in the "Wide Layout" box.

4) Save changes.

Thanks for the above info, but it made no difference to my viewing on the laptop.

Navigating to the first unread post feature is here. Just click the arrow just under the thread title on the left.

Same. And since I am a creature of habit, I'm going to continue to look in the same old spot for awhile. :lol2:

Many, many thanks!!! Completely overlooked that before. Was looking for text instead.

Bet you hate to write checks the first week in January every year.
