October 7, 201313 yr Disability, USA - CBS News Seriously how can anyone be for the goverment running these programs. They just don't do it well. This fraud makes me angry and what will make even more angry is when people excuse this fraud.
October 7, 201313 yr No one cares, if they did the media would be all over it and they aint. Everyone is just waiting on their FREE Obama handout.
October 7, 201313 yr Would it make sense for those who's job it is to investigate the fraud to have a compensation package based upon the amount of fraud caught? Would there be any ethical reasons for them not to be? Could outside agencies be used to catch fraud and their pay is based upon fraud caught similar to how some police departments rely upon bounty hunters to catch fugitives?

Could outside agencies be used to catch fraud and their pay is based upon fraud caught similar to how some police departments rely upon bounty hunters to catch fugitives? Would you want to pay policemen based on the number of tickets they write? Being an investigator in my last job, I could see where a pay for results could lead investigators to make unsound decisions and determinations. Police departments don't rely on Bounty Hunters, Bails Bondsmen do...big difference.
October 7, 201313 yr Had a friend who's fiancee had a terminal inoperable brain tumor...took 9 months to get a decision to allow him to get benefits to assist him...he only lived 12 -14 months total.
October 7, 201313 yr If law capped the % attorneys could charge for assisting with these claims, it may dry up some of the money hunger attorneys portrayed in the 60 minutes piece.
October 7, 201313 yr Author Not disagree but who should run these programs? Congress has done a poor job of oversight. This is what happens anytime the government introduces these programs. They start off small and then grow to be large and to hard to monitor. But I'm sure they will get it right with Obamacare. 57th time is the charm.
October 7, 201313 yr Eric C. Conn right in the middle of it...that's shocking. Here's the segment if you want to watch it: Disability, USA - 60 Minutes - CBS News
October 7, 201313 yr Eric C. Conn right in the middle of it...that's shocking. Here's the segment if you want to watch it: Disability, USA - 60 Minutes - CBS News I bet he just :poop: a brick when he found out 60 Minutes was at the door. :woot:
October 8, 201313 yr Just read the article on the Herald-Leader's site. He earned some $22.7 million working these social security cases. Report shows that doctors and judges were even in on it. There are over 3,000 cases and had a 100% success rate. Madness....
October 8, 201313 yr What concerns me is the money that is lost for those who truly have disabilities being given instead to those who choose to lie and cheat the system. It makes me sick, to think that those who really need the help are being cheated by a scum bag Attorney, Judge, Doctors and a lot of folks in some parts of the Country think it's okay!
October 8, 201313 yr Not only Conn, but a ton of other lawyers and doctors in on it. About time someone tried to clean up that mess.
October 8, 201313 yr Author Again nothing to see here. Republicans have no reason to want to stop Obamacare because it is obvious the government does such a great job managing large programs. I'm jealous of the efficency of the government and its ability to minimize corruption. (sarcasm)
