I get your point but the rivalry used to be Csaa kids and a few others we all know having fun and competing. Now it is an "arm's" race that X is not willing to jump 100% in. Call me someone that appreciates tradition. Don't act like many at Trinity and X don't like the fact that we are losing that tradition. No one wants to watch Oak Hill......

 

Nothing like being exclusionary. Sorry kids we only want CSAA people in our schools. Of course we need to be able to trace your Catholic school lineage back at least two generations. Do you have any idea how elitist you sound?

 

There are a number of families that forgo Catholic grade schools just so they can save up to send them to one of the high schools. Trying to restrict the experience at one of our fine schools to those with money to afford 12 years if private schooling is disingenuous at best and in every way goes against the missions of both schools.

...back to the thread, great game between both teams. Looked more like a small division varsity game than a freshman game. Trinity was well disciplined and coached and has tremendous athletes. Saint X had chances, fumble on 1st and goal at the three yard line in first quarter and 2nd and goal interception in second quarter. Another dropped pass in the end zone to end the game. Trinity has some monster athletes. Number 27 could start for many varsity programs. Hurdled two defenders and ran for another 5 yards. But penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for the hurdle (I still don't get that penalty). I'm a tiger fan and it was an amazing play. Two 80+ yard TD plays for the Rocks on third down. Great plays and they were back breakers. Saint x was out manned but it was a good game to watch. Proud of the Tigers for fighting until the end. Trinity has some great athletes. Along with good coaching, discipline and accountability Trinity will be a force in the next two to three years. I don't root for the rocks but they have a nice set of athletes and a nice coaching compliment. Fun Game. Not many 15 year old mistakes. Just a couple of turnovers, minimal flags and good sportsmanship. I love this rivalry.

Which school was it that recently pushed aside a 30 year head coach that upheld the traditions you seem so fond of?

 

This may be one of the most elitist posts I've ever read regarding this subject. The only one I can remember that may top it was one several months back from a X poster who took umbrage at the fact that Trinity was accepting so many "non-traditional" Trinity type students.

As did I. I knew for as long as I could remember that I would be at Trinity. But i was a JCPS kid all the way up til 8th grade. Wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise.

I dispute the premise. It isn't an arms race. It is families deciding what is best for their son.

How many times has this issue arose? Simply put, I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to receive a tremendous education. I would've hated that I couldn't go to X because I went to a jcps school all my life. It's about making men and preparing us for life and I can truly say Saint X was the best thing that ever happened to me. People get so caught up in the sports aspect and forget that it's really about education and helping young men. :no:

Trinity had Tim Philips and other grads playing for the freshman team.
