This was another good road win for the Birds over another quality opponent. Don't worry Snakesnot Highlands will lose at some point and you can gloat and be happy, but realize when that day/night comes you'll still have had no part in it.

Trust me.. I could care less when Highlands loses a game and I doubt I'll gloat but it's funny to get on here after most were predicting this huge victory for HHS. I believe PT was right in this game most of the way. I now hear these excuses why the margin was not so big ( rested players). Never heard of coaches keeping players out in a tight game , maybe after the outcome was settled. Highland's has a great program and some would say the best program in the state so I thought PT should be given more credit after this game and not to hear excuses why this was not the blowout that Most HHS fans on here predicted.

I'm amazed PT kept it this close. Tilghman has more talent walking the halls than on the field...

Duh !! Sure, we'd have loved to have seen PT win and why shouldn't we? Most fans from a geographic location would root for there neighbors against another from 5 hrs away, wouldn't they? Heck, in reading the threads about this game, I was expecting a 6-7 TD victory and only 6-7 because they'd be playing there JV after halftime. And the reason I said why does it matter, is because I knew the excuses about the long drive, being overconfident, injuries or whatever else would soon follow since they didn't dominate the game rather than giving someone else a little credit or respect for being a lot better than expected. Highlands was the better team and won the game, congratulations, they're a very, very good team, but, they weren't the dominating juggernaut they've been hyped up to be, that's all.

 

First things first, a win is a win. Congrats to Highlands. Only the Highlands faithful that overdose on the blue coolaid seem to come up with the outrageous scores of these games. All schools have them, if you don't believe me ask UK#1 Fan. Most fans know that everyone on their schedule would love to be the ones to give Highlands a loss. Therefor they bring their A game, and tweek their game plan in hope of success. Sounds like PT played their butts off and played hard till the end, kudos to PT.

Highlands had a running back and O-lineman out, looks like the back up running back had a good night and the o-line was sufficient, Highlands did not need an excuse about the injury part. A long drive, you bet. I will see PT in next years match up and you can use that as an excuse, if you need to.

 

The preseason hype(as you call it) is a good question. Preseason, most talented class HHS has ever had? I'm not sure they are playing like it right now, but I wouldn't count them out yet. With Elder and Cov-Cath coming up shortly, we shall see.

FWIW , this PT team is really talented. They have a lot of very good athletes. Very dangerous for sure. They continued to be in HHS's backfield with lots of pressure. But you know, HHS still won the game amidst all these issues. I give PT all the credit they deserve. Great game by them. HHS was better and won!
