That was the same E60 that aired on Tuesday about AJ Green. Good episode, I'm not at all surprised about the guy from Hoover. Reminded me a lot of Coach Kilmer, he thought he was a rock star.

It's football in Alabama, they won something like 4 straight state championships, were on national television. Hell they said during his run at that point in time Hoover was essentially the third major university in Alabama for football. I'm not too surprised.

Things are totally different in Bama, Georgia, parts of South Carolina. You are a football coach first...the pay is higher than many of the district administrators. Granted, with that money, the large schools/pools of talent, the facilities, etc; they expect you to produce.

On our trip to Florida this year, we stayed halfway at Hoover. That morning before we rolled out, we stopped at Hoover, Spain Park, Vestavia Hills, Pelham. Four schools within 20 miles of each other that were X, T, Belfry type facilities and then some...just in that small radius. We made a stop at Prattville, too just north of Montgomery. Shrines boys, shrines.

Former HC at Spain Park made $125,000 just to coach. No teaching responsibilities. It's a different world.

I think Boosters gave him an H2 Hummer after one of the titles, not shocking that he had enough on the side to help girlfriend out.

True. I was only thinking the low end.

He had it all at Hoover and abused it. Boosters were huge in Hoover and the Wilson's were a big part of his success. They all bought in. They do it like this, but if everyone in the community buys in it is a win.

 

I think he learned a lesson and is a better person now for it. He is not the same guy at Hoover as he is at Colquitt Co. (GA.)

I thought I read somewhere a few years ago that he was not a teacher. Me made something like $80-$90k per yr for coaching only.

Just watched the E:60 on this and thought it was pretty well done. This honestly probably had enough material to be an hour long show considering all the MTV Two-A-Days drama, etc.
