September 9, 201313 yr Per ESPN, link below. Munchie Legaux, Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback, out for rest of season due to knee injury, coach confirms to multiple media outlets - ESPN Tough break for the kid. I saw a replay of the injury, and it looked gruesome. Don't go YouTubing it if you have a weak stomach.
September 9, 201313 yr Saw this live and GT and I knew it was over, he is down at UC med center now.. Sounds like its a form of the Lattimore injury. Terrible to see.
September 10, 201313 yr That one didn't look nearly as bad as the Lattimore injury. Still a very tough break for Munchie and UC. Here's for a speedy and full recovery.

Fortunately there wasn't a camera angle that caught the shot clean through all the bodies. 2 plus days later and they still haven't released the extent of the injury and couldn't fly him back to Cincinnati so they had to transport 4 hours in an ambulance. I suspect the details will be ugly when they are released...

This is one of those situations where you hope it was a break. Unfortunately I think we all assume it's much worse.

Hate to agree but there has to be severe structural damage to the knee ligaments/tendons. Where does UC go from here, who is after Kay on the chart?
September 10, 201313 yr Hate to agree but there has to be severe structural damage to the knee ligaments/tendons. Where does UC go from here, who is after Kay on the chart? Bennie Coney is an impressive young guy that will move up to #2 on the depth chart. From there it gets a little dicey as a few guys bolted with Coney and Gunner Kiel sitting on the roster with 3 years remaining to start next season. Guessing Jordan Luallen will be moved back to QB tomorrow to give them a solid 3rd string guy and walk on Michael Collisimo will probably get some more practice reps as well...
September 10, 201313 yr ................ Really sad news for a young man, that by all accounts, is a great teammate and person. While it stinks for UC Football, in the grand scheme of things, that pales in comparison to what that young man is going through and will continue to go through. Like many, I was watching it live, and honestly, I turned it for 15 minutes so I wouldn't see any of the replays. What was a really promising UC football season with the possibility of an undefeated season (until UL) has now been over-shadowed by the surprisingly one-sided loss and Munchie going down for the season. Stinks!
September 10, 201313 yr Dang, hate to hear that. Saw it live, it looked bad. Hopefully he has a good surgery and recovers fully.
