September 9, 201313 yr After 2 electric series wins against playoff teams, the Reds host the Cubs for three at GABP. Bronson Arroyo gets the call for Cincinnati in the opener tonight. He's 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA vs. the Cubbies this year. Chicago counters with former-Red, Travis Wood. The left-hander's been 0-3, with a 3.67 ERA in 4 starts against the Reds in 2013. Here's hoping the Reds build on this 4 game winning streak and don't suffer a major emotional let down against the Cubs.
September 9, 201313 yr Author Surprised to see Ludwick all the way down at 6th, with Frazier moved into the 5 hole.
September 9, 201313 yr Might be a little slow going against Wood but they have to stay after it. I'm predict the Reds pull ahead and away in the 5th and then we add a few against their bullpen.
September 10, 201313 yr At the risk of suffering a fate worse than death I have to ask why you call Arroyo WBP?
September 10, 201313 yr Strong effort by Bronson. You should win when you go 7 and give up 2. Two nights in a row the starter goes 7 and 2 and doesn't get the W.
September 10, 201313 yr Author To the bottom of the 9th we go. If anybody reaches base, you gotta feel we'll see Hamilton pinch run, if for nothing else to distract the pitcher.
September 10, 201313 yr Author Cozart at 2nd with 2 out. Xavier Paul in to pinch hit. Zero chance he catches lightning in a bottle here.
