The only T game I've seen is Ensworth. T had a lot of trouble with their OL. T's defense is young and inexperienced, starting only one senior, I believe. If Colerain has a good running game with an OL like Ensworth, then T might be in trouble. Let me put it this way about the DB's: they are a work in progress. However, as bad as T played on defense, they were a dropped pass and a chip-shot FG from beating Ensworth. The QB is talented and does indeed have a strong arm. I thought he missed some open receivers deep vs. Ensworth and I hope his accuracy has improved. T may have to leave some of their passing attack behind and have him run more as he is an accomplished runner. The main RB, Brooks, is good and this is basically his first year playing much. He is a junior, I think. He has pretty good wheels if he gets free. I think he might have some trouble recognizing where the running lanes are but he runs hard, and by all accounts is improving. The Rocks have three good - not great - receivers (hope I'm not offending anyone) who, like most of the players, are learning on the job. I think the offensive line is fairly good. Punting game is really bad. Don't know about FG-kicking but I think the kicker plays both football and soccer so you would think he has a decent leg. In its 2 losses, T was right there at the end but did not have the wherewithal to finish the job. You hope that the team will acquire that trait as the season rolls along.

The game will be carried live on WeAreColerain.com and the Rocks radio network. If you are in the Louisville area and can physically be there, I would highly recommend that option.

Thanks, I live in Jacksonville Florida now and I only get to come back up for about 1 game every season. We use our cabin in N Georgia on the weekends and I listen to the game on 970's Internet feed as we drive, a great way to make my 6 hour drive feel shorter. I watch every ESPN broadcast and try to find the games when available on the web. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Can we get a little football discussion going in this thread? There are clearly some very knowledgeable Trinity folks on here, I would love to hear your take on the following as we are about 31 hours from kickoff.

 

What are Trinity's strengths offensively? Defensively?

What are Trinity's weaknesses offensively? Defensively?

Who are the names to watch other than the QB? What about the SO linebacker Coach Bolden spoke of? And the RB?

What caused the offense to sputter last week?

Is 4-star healthy?

 

Let's break this down a bit.

Damon Lowe(52)is the sophomore LB. Canon Jackson(7) is a junior DB and lone defensive starter from last season.

Trinity rotates 8 defenisve linemen.

The main RB is Donald Brooks(19), a junior. Jailen Reed(34) is his back up and is a sophomore. TEs are Woody Campbell(9) and Andrew Delvisco(14)-both seniors who came in as freshmen QBs. WR include Cody Swabek(22) and CJ Ott(8)-both seniors. Rodjay Burns(10) is a sophomore wideout.

 

Poor choice on a punt return downed at one yard line, two interceptions, and QB with no voice all contributed to offensive woes.

I hope it's a great game for both sides. I am fully in the camp that either team is fully capable of winning this game. In fact, I can say with certainty that Trinity is the favorite on their home field. Football is built around routine and Friday's routine is going to be all screwed up for the Cardinals on Friday as they are off school and they will be on a bus for 2+ hours before they play. That may not seem like a lot to Trinity fans but for Colerain, they NEVER travel this far to play a game. It will make a difference.
