September 9, 201313 yr Marvin made this team relevant which has been great, but he's proven he can only bring us 75% of the way towards our ultimate goal.

September 9, 201313 yr Marvin is the coach why did he want him back? Rey honestly didn't play to bad today, probably because he didn't play as many snaps or at least it didn't look like it. However still at the end he found away to make one of his classic dumb headed mistakes. The Bengals would have only had 30 or so seconds left and no timeouts, so doubtful the Bengals could even get in field goal range with that. However it still was a selfish and dumb move on him, and ended the game right there.
September 9, 201313 yr I'm not trying to be a Marvin hater, i'm just simply saying I don't know if he can get us to the next level. When you lose to the Texans twice and to a rookie QB, then continue to have bad time management and odd decisions during the game, it has become a trend over time.
September 9, 201313 yr James Harrison had one tackle today. Geno zero. The Sam backer in a Mike Zimmer defense is not going to ever stand out to much. When watching Harrison you have to look at the other things he does. The Bears had a very hard time running left because of Harrison doing a great job setting the edge. There was one sweep where he completely blew up the play, so it won't go in the stats book but he made that play. I do think they need to find a way to allow him to rush the passer more though. I was disappointed in Geno though, he allowed a rookie to do a great job on him. I am sure they were doubling him a lot. However Geno still usually can beat a double team. Dunlap was the only defensive lineman who seemed to be getting much pressure.

Obviously I am someone who has been very high on the Bengals. However I admit I did a poor job not accounting Marvin and the bad game management he has. I was hoping it would have gotten better after 11 years, but it still hasn't. That is very frustrating and could hold this team back if that continues I must admit.
September 9, 201313 yr No more to say than what has been said, the obvious. Coaching was horrible ( and I have backed Lewis for a long time), turnovers,(the Bears win 3-5 games a year just like this, they are the most opportunistic team in NFL), 4th quarter our line on both sides of the ball get whipped, and no discipline. Absolutely amazing they only lost by 3. There were positves, but it didn't matter. I will say this is themost talent we have had in a long time, but you can't give games away. The level of competition is too close in this league.

The level of competition is too close in this league. On "Hard Knocks," Marvin yells, "Just do your job." Did the coaches do their job today? Problem is, even if the coaching staff screws up (think of the 10-game losing streak in 2010), who's going to hold them accountable?

Gruden was just as responsible for the end of half idiotness too. I dont trust Marvin, Gruden or Dalton against good teams.
September 9, 201313 yr Gruden was just as responsible for the end of half idiotness too. I dont trust Marvin, Gruden or Dalton against good teams. Dalton was not the problem. He played more than adequate. The first TO was his fault, Peanut jumped the route because he he did not look him off, although Green got beat to the spot. The 2nd Inerception was all on Green, it him in stride in the hands. Sanu's lack of ball security caused the 3rd TO. I thought Dalton looked as effective as I have seen him. He did this with out effectively running the ball with the lead. They began to ignore it and upped the heat. Lewis, Gruden and Zimmer did not prepare adjust well during the game, I agree there.

He still isn't good though and I don't trust him to win a high scoring game like yesterdays. He had a chance to go win a game and went three and out. You're not going to win all of those obviously, but he didn't even give them a chance on their last possession.
September 9, 201313 yr Koolaid, get your ice cold koolaid here. It's orange, its cold, watching this team is getting old! Ice cold koolaid!!
