Just to be fair to the young man, full scholarships in baseball are very rare. Each D1 school has something like 12.5 full scholarships to divide up for somewhere around 30 to 35 roster spots. My numbers may be off a little but they are close.

What position does Cameron Play? I don't remember hearing to much about him.

I asked simply because I didn't know. I wasn't bashing it. Obviously, anything towards a good D1 program is awesome. Especially a school the quality of UC.

You're pretty close on the total # of scholarships but I would be those are only spread over about 25 players.

I'm almost positive it's 11.7 scholarships and they are divided up amongst the roster. You need athletic and academic monies to get a so called free ride.

I would say they are so rare that it probably only happens once every century. I think my 11.7 is the number that I've seen. I have heard that Mr. Ross is also an extremely smart individual. That would be something that would help tremendously towards his scholarship.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that you were bashing. Just putting information out there because I do not think the average sports fan understands how hard it is to get baseball scholarship.:thumb:

Usually scholarships are split into 1/4, and 1/2. 1/4 is your basic scholarship but if you're offered a 1/2 scholarship, you're usually thought of as a higher recruit.

Correct. I think they used to be able to offer "books" but now they have to offer a minimum of 25%.

What position does Cameron play? Gussing pitching gets the lion's share of that 11.7 number? I have read also what Clyde is saying about the minimum amount you can receive is 25% and it can only be split between 27 players. Not all schools are fully funded either so that 11.7 number could be lower.
