I thought baseball changed the rule a few years ago that said if you offer any scholarship money it has to be a minimum of 25%.

11.7 is the maximum a D1 baseball team is allowed to have. They are usually going to have 30+ players on the roster with some of them being walk-ons. I would say Pitchers get the largest percentage and the rest are split up from there. I can tell you that the 25% is not the minimum you can receive. Not sure were Clyde got that number.

 

What position does Cameron play? Gussing pitching gets the lion's share of that 11.7 number? I have read also what Clyde is saying about the minimum amount you can receive is 25% and it can only be split between 27 players. Not all schools are fully funded either so that 11.7 number could be lower.

If that is the case, I know quite a few players that are sitting at the 20% mark playing D1. It would be nice from the baseball perspective to allot more than the 11.7 so they could get that percentage up.

I just noticed the opening sentence and I would not say it would have been made up, but maybe misinformed. Interesting article, but never notice an effective date. Is this supposed to be effective this upcoming year. Also, I will not come on here and make things up either. Looks like some things have changed since the summer during the recruiting discussions if this is the case.

I stand corrected! Clyde is correct on this matter!

Cameron will probably play CF and P this year for Conner. Has played MIF, OF, 3B and P in previous years.

Is Cameron going in as pitcher or player? Dual role maybe?

My understanding is that Cameron will be a walk-on. Could get some academic money as he is a very good student.
