For all the X fans, BGHS is simply in the middle of an unbelievable run. IMO, our skilled positions along with a defense that has a young man at linebacker and some veteran defensive ends will "slow down" your running game. Yes x will score, but I believe (in my humble yet accurate prediction) that the Purples will score more. Hats off to the team that pulls it off. I have no dog in this fight but usually the team that wins waits until after the game to humbly apologize....Just sayin....WOW!!!

X- 35 BG-21 The Tigers are too big, strong and deep for the Purples!

The last four meetings between theses two teams have been hard fought close games. No reason to suspect it to be any different this week. X got an opportunity to play this past week which can only help them in their chemistry, but lost a day of preparation for the Purples. X also has one less game film on them.

 

In '11 BG was the better team and showed it late in the game. Last year I firmly believe that they were pretty equal in terms of talent, the second half was very disappointing for the X offense, but BG made big time plays on offense to put the pressure n the X offense to make plays but they could not with their back-up QB.

 

While X's offense is not flawless, they are not one-dimensional, and have the ability to score at faster pace than in previous years. Which will be an added pressure for the BG defense who in years past focused on shutting down the running game.

 

BG is going to make a couple of big plays this game, they have too many weapons not too. But I believe that X is going to put enough pressure on on Hayes to force him out off the pocket and make accurate throws on the run. If the X defense can keep everything in front of them and make tackles they will win this game.

 

I think in the end X offense pushes them to victory by the score of 40 - 34.

BG hasn't been able to "slow down" X's running the past 2 years with some of the same players on defense. While #12 is very good, BG has to account for #16 on the opposite who is just has good and explosive.

I think X wins this one in a barn burner.... Ill say it goes down to the last minute before the outcome is determined. X has shown that it can run the ball. Play very good defense just as long as the opponent doesn't get to 3rd down and 9!!!!!!!!! Pass defense has to step up this week. If X gives up three TD's to "poor" de. ep pass defense, then BG will enjoy a ride back to BG!!!!. I'm thinking the X staff will fix this problem this week. Fixed the special teams last week with the x-pt team being perfect on 7 for 7. I also think that X gave a game away last year and has that on their mind.... as in its not going to happen again!!!! Really looking forward to this one. This will propell the winner into a very good season. the loser will have to regroup and refocus on the road ahead. Maybe a loss in this game is best for either team as it prepares them for the real road a head..... St X certainly can't afford to take there foot off the pedal against the Purples. I think B.Green is a lot more explosive than Lex Cath, who, as most have stated on here, made big plays against the Tiger D. Plus, BGs D is much better than LCs. The one advantage for X is home field, but, it won't be enough. St X is too one dimensional and typically loses when faced with an opponent of equal talent. I like the Purples by 10 or more.

When talking about the depth size and strength of X, the past 2 years have demonstrated BG has more. In 2011 X kicked 2 FG's in the second half. In 2012 X scored 1 TD in the second half. I don't recall much of a running game in the second half of either game. My guess is BG makes the second half adjustments and THEIR depth wins the game for them.

I think Bowling Green was just better in 2011. The 2012 Purples were made up of 90% Juniors. That was your best chance to beat this team. This years team is a senior laden team with the best offense in school history and a veteran defense. Good luck and I hope I can get a seat for this game.

We all know about BG's offense; many weapons to choose from. But can you talk a little bit about their defense. Quick is a stud LBer and Austin Jones is a solid OLBer, but usually their best player is the SS...who holds that position this year? What about their DLine....?
