September 3, 201313 yr Maybe I am alone here, I have not read any posts in this thread yet. The trash talk doesn't bother me. From the video, it seems like Rice was initiating as much of that as Johnny Football was. The celebration where he is rubbing his fingers together to symbolize cashing in doesn't bother me either. That seems to be an in vogue celebration this year as I have seen numerous players use it this weekend. Even pointing to the scoreboard doesn't bother me- I think it is the ultimate in "shut your mouth" when it comes to team sports. If you don't want me to point to the scoreboard, then don't run your yap down 4 touchdowns. What grinds my gears is seeming to ignore your coach as you are walking off of the field. You screwed up, you get chewed- just like everyone else. As the QB, leader, best player on the team and Heisman winner, you have to understand that and accept a butt chewing when you have earned it by getting a personal foul. As for further discipline, I don't know that I have any. We have a conversation on the following day where I make it very clear to him where I stand on his on field behavior toward a coach and then we move forward. If this continues to be an issue, then you will force my hand and I will sit you, period.

September 3, 201313 yr I am baffled as to why getting a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty is being treated as a misdemeanor crime? The guy has, and plays with an attitude. He did last season though no person knew of him until about 2 months in to the season. It is a big reason he is as great as if he is. With Manziel, he feeds off it; guys are not going to rattle him in the way many people believe he will be rattled by just talking crap and provoking him. Manziel is a bright dude. He knows when he can and can't afford that type of a penalty. Manziel may meet his match on the field, but it will not be because of his attitude like many are insinuating.

September 4, 201313 yr Personally I think it's all blown way out of proportion. Other then the autograph crap what has he really done? Made some questionable tweets, went to a frat party in Austin, what else? You know he was getting the business from the Rice defenders. The spot light is on him so he catches all the crap. What I do with him is put him under center and watch him win me games. Dude is the best QB in the SEC and from what saw out of Alabama Saturday I don't see them beating A&M. Like someone already said, sports is about entertainment and Johnny Football is entertaining.
