If Trinity wins, I don't think it will be easy. We have a ways to go, including in the leadership department, I believe. The squad is awfully young and inexperienced.

T's defense will have to grow up a lot to stop Kevin Wright's running attack this Friday. I don't think they're ready for the test. Ferby is getting a lot of respect for his ability but the Ensworth O-Line was handling the Rocks defense. I say Carmel 24 - Rocks 21.

A little off thread, but you are commenting about T's defense. I was reading WKU's roster in the paper today and noticed that 3 players from T's defense last year are on the roster: Bertram, Bryant and Jordan. (It had Jordan listed at 5'8" and 267 lb., if I remember correctly.) It'll take a while for this current bunch of Rocks to develop the same type of players.

My wife's cousin lives in Carmel. We've been there to visit one time. What I saw was a very upscale neighborhood.

There were quite a few students at Hanover from Carmel. They weren't hurting from money. The stadium was built while I was in college, it is supposed to be, or was, really nice.

I was under the impression that it was just cramps brought on by dehydration. I could be wrong though.

In my "rumor" post I mistakenly said "sprain." Like you, I originally heard it was cramps.

Well fans of green, I was hit with the mother of all rumors today from the lips of Poplar Level faithful.... "Did you know Trinity has 2 convicted felons who are members of the crips playing on the team and that a coach is assigned to them daily to escort them around the school?" I found that to be beyond humorous (they were not kidding).... into the category of offensive. Have the seeds of jealousy grown so large that ignorant comments such as that have to be made? and people wonder why I cheer for the Rocks.... I would ask the many good folks at St. X to please stomp out the trash fires on campus that breed this type of garbage.

Carmel may have more questions about their team than Trinity after their performance this past Friday. Arsenal Tech of Indianapolis is not normally a difficult opponent for the successful large school programs in Indiana. The Greyhounds turned the ball over more often than normal. Despite the loss, Trinity's confidence in a big game versus a good opponent is a huge positive asset.

 

 

Let's call it what it is...Ensworth looked like an elite team. Carmel is no Ensworth, not even close. The wildcard is the Trinity defense, last week it was like watching Rocky Balboa taking straight right and left punches to the head and finding a way to make it to the last bell. Trinity defensive backs are bad in coverage and even worse at tackling, and the D-Line was just mauled last week. Clearly the Carmel UCLA commit at WR is a hurricane warning flag for the Rocks.

 

With that said I call it 38-17 Rocks with the Trinity #5 at QB. Trinity will not dial up the score on a former coach, and it's just difficult to put a solid number on the Rocks D at this point in the season.
