Well fans of green, I was hit with the mother of all rumors today from the lips of Poplar Level faithful.... "Did you know Trinity has 2 convicted felons who are members of the crips playing on the team and that a coach is assigned to them daily to escort them around the school?" I found that to be beyond humorous (they were not kidding).... into the category of offensive. Have the seeds of jealousy grown so large that ignorant comments such as that have to be made? and people wonder why I cheer for the Rocks.... I would ask the many good folks at St. X to please stomp out the trash fires on campus that breed this type of garbage.

 

Hey we have similar notable characters in NKY that will stop at no level to Hate on the Birds.

 

Programs like T just do not two in a row. I will go with Da Rocks with a healthy Bonnafon 35-21.

I was at the basketball game when the nasty and racist chants coming out of the X students were not stopped by the X administration or any other adult. I was at the football game when the X students and adults celebrated James Quick being injured and leaving in a neck brace and on a back board. I'm sure it isn't everyone at X and maybe it isn't even most, but until the good people at X put a stop to what has been coming out of the X community the past few years, it will continue to be my impression of what has become of X.

It happened when Quick was injured and it continued as they wheeled him off on a back board. If the administration doesn't like it they have shown themselves to be unable or unwilling to stop it. If the former coaching staff didn't like it they did nothing to stop the team from participating. You can try to pretend that the indefensible didn't happen, but I was there. You may not be able to change my opinion, but you also can't change the facts.

That's false. I was with the b-ball team in Knight's Hall for the regional championship when they had to walk past the X student section to get to their locker room at halftime. Their comments were less then savory and not a single teacher (who were in the vicinity) acted to stop them.

That basketball game was as ugly as anything I have ever seen. I was really proud of our guys for ignoring it and playing right through. I was also proud of our student section for not responding in kind.

Nope, not at all. In fact, left alone they would be no better. They are kids. They need leadership. Look at the student section at any Trinity game. You will see teachers, most of the time lead by Dr. Mullen, ready to stop kids that get out of line. That is my point. If the X administration had wanted to stop it, they could have chosen to do so. They may have regretted it later. They may have wished they had done more. They may may have been embarrassed by it. When the time came to step up and lead, they stood and watched. What happened at the football game the following fall indicates to me that they didn't even take the chance to teach after the fact.

 

And by the way, the PeeWee Herman defense, "I know you are, but what am I?" is not persuasive.

The James Quick situation was the most disgusting thing I have ever witnessed in my life. Honestly, if it was the student section, I'd give them a pass....but it was a large contingent of "adults"....I'll never forget that.
