Lawrence has a really nice team this year. I fully expect them to be the 2 seed in their district and I honestly think they have a very good shot at meeting Belfry in the Regional Finals after taking down District 7's 1 Seed.

Still think Breathitt is the team to beat in District 7, although Morgan will certainly be able to compete and has a puncher's chance for once.

 

Belfry, though, will simply be on another level compared to everyone else. Like Lawrence over Pike Central for the 2 seed who I don't think has the line play or the depth.

Great win for Lawrence County and Coach Cecil. I know this team is primed for a big year, and this had to be a great feeling for Coach Cecil. This is the first game since his mother passed away I believe.

 

A big congrats also to Lawrence County's OC, a former Bulldog and college Belly Option QB, it sounds like he has the Dawgs back to doing what they and he do best.

My exact words, oldrambler. I expected a win by Lawrence but this kind of beatdown I didn't. It is really good to see Lawrence open up in such an impressive way.

Thanks guys. Felt good to be pacing the sidelines at home again. That one was for Coach Cecil who lost his mom this Summer. 15 years coaching it's been an honor to watch him grow into the best off the field leader of young men I've been around. Very emotional pregame and the kids rallied around him.

Coach Short and Caudill deserve a lot of praise. They've put together a solid offense. QB AJ Cyrus is the best option QB mentally since the 90's. Should have a huge year! Long season. 1 game. Hungry and humble.
