August 23, 201313 yr How much of Manziel's off season behavior factored in to the voter's decisions? Should it of factored in at all? Hard to believe he was not first team after that incredible season.........
August 23, 201313 yr ..........I would take Aaron Murray over Johnny Manziel in college, in the NFL, and in life.
August 23, 201313 yr Author I don't understand that logic though. How can a returning Heisman Trophy winner not be Preseason First Team in his conference?

August 23, 201313 yr I don't understand that logic though. How can a returning Heisman Trophy winner not be Preseason First Team in his conference? Just because he had the best year last year, that doesn't automatically make him the best QB this year. Plus, some may bank on the fact that either he won't play the whole year (suspended) or teams will figure him out the 2nd time around. Not to mention, I'm sure some of the coaches just don't like him and find his act to be a bit tiresome and old at this point....they are humans. I just don't find this all that hard to see....especially given Aaron Murray will likely be a servicable QB in the NFL.

Just seems weird that the guy voted as the best player in college last year returns and is not picked to be the best in his conference.
August 23, 201313 yr I think his off the field situation has every bit to do with this ranking. Seems silly that he's not First Team.
August 23, 201313 yr What ever happened with all his issues, can he play, did the NCAA make any rulings yet?

August 23, 201313 yr Don't know if Murray did or not but Manziel had a hell of an off season. Now THAT'S clever!!
