Camels will christen their new home venue Friday night as the host the Newport Wildcats in the beginning of the Matt Schmidt era.

Have heard Newport RB Dom Joseph is suffering a sprained ankle...not sure if he will play or not.

Thoughts?

This will be ugly. Campbell County big!

Camels need this game after scrimmaging CovCath.

Campbell Co. 34-7.

The Camels will "Rise to the Occasion"

I'm wearing my t-shirt today.:thumb:

I heard Newport had 24 kids? Now one is potentially out w/ an ankle. Going to be a tough year for the Wildcats. Kudos to those kids still playing for sticking with it. Best of luck to both teams.

Camels will still be without Jake Zabonick for another week with a high ankle sprain. Camels take this one.

Why is CC playing 2A schools?

Camels win this one. Too much size, depth, speed, and strength.

1st thing that came to my mind as well. YIKES!!!

That didn't help against CovCath. :D

I was at that scrimmage. Campbell Co is better than you think. CovCath was just a few weeks ahead of them in preparation. The Fighting Camels name the score in this one and will use it as an additional fine-tuning scrimmage.

Because it was the only one they could find that would play week 0. I wish it was easy to schedule as some of you people think but it is really tough to fill out a schedule for big schools. You have seen SK, Conner, Boone, Ryle, have all had to take what they can get some weeks. They tried to work it out with Highlands for week 0 but it didn't work. Newport was the only other option.

The schedule gets much tougher after the Newport game. I'm not sure of the order but will include HHS, NCC, Cooper, Conner, and a tough district.

I asked the same question about Newport. Why in the world would Newport schedule a 6A school? Don't tell me this will make Newport better, because it won't. Newport's program needs confidence builders that will draw students to their program not demoralizing defeats that may actually cause them to lose players that currently play.
